College/Department Profile
The âOffice of Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (SIEED)â has been established in Fall 2021 in the QU President Office to initiate, manage, execute, and/or coordinate developments of the President Office innovation and transformation cross-strategies and initiatives (e.g. Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy, Digital Transformation Strategy, etc.) among other strategic innovation and transformation duties and functions. The SIEED Office is also particularly focused on design, management, and execution on the evolution of holistic and mature âQU Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Ecosystemâ across all QU sectors and emerging companies and ventures in integrated manner with the National Innovation & Economic Development ecosystem. This particular focus is in the process of realizing QU new vision aiming at positioning Qatar University as a â .. Catalyst for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Qatarâ and is closely integrating with state transformation efforts into Innovation & Knowledge Based Economy (iKBE) as envisioned in Qatar National Vision 2030, the National Development Strategies, and Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) 2030 Strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
1.Lead and/or advise the implementation of overall innovation development assignments in line with the broad directions of the Presidentâ strategic innovation projects and initiatives
2.Assist in curriculum development of enabling strategies and strategic innovation initiatives and projects under implementation
3.Assist in teaching of courses relevant to enabling strategies and strategic innovation initiatives and projects under implementation,
4.Develop and implement research, assessment, evaluation, and impact measurement methodologies of strategic innovation initiatives and projects impact
5.Disseminate of the strategic innovation initiatives and projects implementation experiences and outputs in terms of research papers and/or conference and book chapters
6.Prepare of funding and research proposals, external donors, industry, etc., to obtain external funds for strategic innovation initiatives or projects planned for implementation
7.Organize awareness, training and coaching workshops/seminars to key academic and executive stakeholders related to strategic innovation initiatives or projects under implementation
8.Develop and execute knowledge and competency transfer programs and activities for key stakeholders in Qatar University in areas related to strategic innovation initiatives and projects under implementation
9.Engage closely between the University academics and the community/industry in the areas of enabling strategies innovation initiatives and projects under implementation
10.Facilitate and drive developments of key University strategic innovation initiatives and projects in focused niche areas of expertise from inception phase, all the way throughout design, planning, implementation, sustainability and evaluation phases
11.Work closely with key stakeholders across campus to support the development of the President Office strategic innovation initiatives, projects, and cross-strategies
12.Develop pilots and evaluate outcomes in line with planned strategic innovation initiatives and projects for implementation, and provide expertise consultancy/advisory for key stakeholders on various levels
13.Develop culture, change management, and risk management activities/models related to the strategic innovation and initiatives under inception or implementation, and integrate into the implementation actions
14.Any other duties as assigned by direct line manager
