The primary role of the IT Manager at IUK is to provide strategic leadership for different IT teams, set its strategic plan and goals, align it to the University’s one, execute the annual plans, manage, and develop the IT sector. Reporting to the VPAF, He / She will closely collaborate with the senior management, the academic departments, and other different administrative departments at the university to state of art digital solutions and an environment that provides students and instructors with the best learning/teaching experience. He / She will oversee digitization projects and technology operations and evaluate them according to preset goals and University ones. Providing IT governance and QA system is an essential task of the IT Manager in addition to the implementation of services, policies, and programs through the IT and University sectors.
The main responsibilities of the IT manager are to supervise and lead the IT department and its main activities through achieving the following:
Strategic Planning and Initiatives
– Lead and supervise the development of the Information Technology Strategic plan and ensure its alignment with
IUK’s vision and strategic goal.
– Design and implement different TEL strategies and infrastructure.
– Plan and lead the digital transformation projects at the University.
– Plan for IT governance models at different levels such as ITIL and COBIT.
Budgeting and Operations:
– Develop and manage the IT manpower plan
– Develop, supervise and monitor the department’s annual budget.
– Design BCM plan and eliminate related risks.
– Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems.
– Managing and developing the main IT sectors/departments in an educational environment:
o Computing systems such as SIS, ERP, Portals, and its related components such as storage and database.
o Networks of different types and their related functions.
o Classroom Technologies
o Telecommunications
o Ensure information security, and network access, and mitigate risks.
o Helpdesk
o E-Learning and LMSs
– Oversee and manage the different IT operations in a university setting.
o Readiness of classroom educational environment
o Implement and maintain security measures and protocols across the University.
o Improve standard IT processes
o Establish KPIs within the IT team and the services it provides
o Readiness of University systems
o Training faculty members and staff
o Plan and implement helpdesk solution
o Plan and supervise the implementation of the ERP system.
o Design and automate student service processes.
– Manage and supervise implementing and maintaining classrooms technology
o Smartboards
o class management software
o Projectors
o Language Labs
o Computer Labs
o Low-voltage devices.
Policies & Procedures
– Work with the management to develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
– Recommend updates to the IT policies and procedures and supervise their implementation and administration.
Committees
- Participate in IT Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and others as needed
- Participate in the University manpower planning committee and other ones.

المهارات
Education
– Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information technology, or computer science.
– Professional Certificates are an asset
Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience working in IT operations
- At least five years in a similar position.
- Diversity experience is preferred
Technical Skills
- Analytical skills for operational effectiveness.
- Knowledge about emerging technologies in educational technologies is a must.
