Overview:
To serve guests in a warm, accommodating and professional way, making sure the guest is 100% satisfied. The level of service must be consistent with established Four Seasons standards in every respect. As the first and last impression of the restaurant, it is important that Bahrain Bay Kitchen hostesses consistently bring a warm and genuine level of hospitality. It is the function for hostesses to be knowledgeable of all food and beverage offerings and related service protocol, communicate clearly and be attentive and friendly to all guests.
JOB FUNCTIONS:

Set up the host/hostess stand, review the reservation book and make recommendations as to the set-up of the room.

Open the restaurant for business at the prescribed time each shift.

Inspect the cleanliness of each section of the dining room and the private dining rooms and make necessary improvements as well as check each table prior to opening to ensure its proper set.

Pick up the daily menus and insert them properly in their covers.

Inspect every menu and list to ensure their condition and appearance.

Develop a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for the day

Assign seating taking into consideration service standards

Know the server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns and their maximum workload capacity.

Maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant.

Ensure you conform to the standards of service and personally ensure each guest receives the highest quality of service.

Greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture.

handle guests without reservations or those waiting for others to join them.

Handle lost and found items.

Seat reservations promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party.

Hold chairs for guests as often as possible when seating them.

Check guest's coats or packages when necessary.

Address guests by name whenever possible.

Address a guest dissatisfaction immediately and inform the manager of the action taken.

Answer telephones according to Four Seasons' standards and take reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service.

Anticipate the needs of guests while scanning the room constantly.

Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Have Neat and legible hand writing

Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
Skills and Experience:
-
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

Proficiency in Arabic is a preferred.

1 year previous food and beverage experience in a high paced restaurant.

2 years’ experience in a similar role, with a luxury establishment
