Budget Management Sr. Specialist
Job Description
*JOB PURPOSE:
To contribute to the development of LCGPA budget through monitoring and ensuring alignment with all departments across LCGPA to achieve LCGPA financial strategy.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Budget Planning and Management
§ Coordinate with all departments within LCGPA in order to ensure the alignment on budget guidelines, timetables and applicable forms.
§ Support departments across LCGPA during the budget development to ensure that the developed budget covers the financial needs of the authority.
§ Monitor the annual budget for all departments to ensure compliance with LCGPA approved budget.
§ Perform periodic budget monitoring on all identified discrepancies, deviations and issues to ensure effective use of budget resources.
§ Assess budget requests/ budget modifications from other departments through conducting proper assessment, analyzing supporting business cases to ensure that all requests are accurate and justified.
Financial Reporting
§ Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between forecasted and actual cost to provide insights regarding LCGPA overall budget.
§ Prepare related internal and external financial reports such as (income statements, MoF reports, etc.)
Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports
§ Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
§ Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports and functional deliverables to meet the functional requirements in order to achieve the desired efficiency and performance excellence.
