Job Description
The opportunity
This is an opportunity to be involved in the delivery of major sports stadia and associated projects in Saudi Arabia. Mace are currently bidding for this programme which will require high-calibre and experienced people to lead teams throughout each phase of the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the freight strategy, identifying areas of opportunity.
- Advising and supporting freight and traffic related matters with procurement to ensure tenders contain the correct information for potential bidders to make an informed decision.
- Coordinating freight and traffic related matters with the relevant package managers, logistics team and consents team.
- Working with the consents team to ensure consents and their associated works are being adhered to by the subcontractors in respect of freight movements.
- Liaising with the consents team to deliver appropriate and timely information in relation to all consents including those related to highways works.
- Working with the consents team to draft, develop and seek approval of local traffic management plan as appropriate, and support the town planning lead in submission of associated lorry route applications.
- Liaise with internal colleagues to maintain their awareness of the commitments given in regard to freight and traffic and that the project continues to meet them.
- Developing and providing freight and traffic related supporting materials such as toolbox talks, briefings or handovers and guides on operations.
- Working with all relevant parties to identify and fine tune procedures for preapplication discussions and applications for consents.
- Liaise with the land and third parties lead to ensure compliance of wider commitments, undertakings and assurances relating to area of responsibility is always maintained and oversee that these are complied with.
- Assisting the planning managers to incorporate the key logistics milestones into the programme.
- Identifying and analysing risks relating to the freight strategy or other traffic related matters relating to area of responsibility, act as a risk owner of such risks where requested.
- Ensuring that all plans are secured in a timely manner and escalate where issues are encountered.
- Liaising with the highways consents manager in their role as primary user for the street manager online database.
- Implementing, establishing, and managing a system for traffic management.
About you
You have strong knowledge of logistical practices within construction with an excellent traffic management background. You have past experience of major construction projects.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
