Inventory Control Officer (Specializing in Excise Tax Reconciliation)
Job Description
Job Purpose
To monitor, control and maintain stock levels of all in flight service (IFS) items, catering, product, retail and reading material, at stock holding locations, oversee their replenishments from suppliers and their redistribution to ensure stock availability in the right quantities, in order to plan and manage the cost of logistics.
Job Outline:
– Determine and maintain updated item master attributes, for all active items, stock levels, Economic Order Quantities, Fill rates, etc., to enable optimised replenishment planning & distribution logistics to keep supply cost to the minimum.
– Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels at all stock holding locations to enable the accurate planning of replenishment and distribution activities. Identify potential risks and opportunities in the forecast or stock holding and take mitigating action to avoid impact to stock availability for servicing flights.
– Organise the introduction of new products on line by setting up the Intem Master in the ERP module and amend attributes for all inventory holding organisations, along with caterer specific forecasts to ensure timely, seamless and cost effective introduction of new products and product changeovers
– Publish periodic forecast to upstream and downstream supply chain partners to ensure information flows are available to the agreed timescales and enable the supply chain to deliver product and service in a reliable and cost effective manner.
– Monitor stock volume and value performance against forecast and budget and provide analysis of variances so corrective action can be taken. Highlight any deviation for either corrective action or for future forecast estimates
– Manage monthly Excise Tax reconciliation and claim process for SD-Catering. Prepare accurate stock movement reports for Designated Zones and carry out summary transactions on FTA (Federal Tax Authority) web portal.
– Ensure all stock holding locations carry out stock transactions on the Emirates ERP system and Emirates Catering Management System through random audits in a timely manner. Analyse system transactions to ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
– Conduct periodic stock audits at warehouses to ensure quality of goods received comply with required quality standards, the warehouse has appropriate control practices in place to control the movement of stock through the supply chain and in line with the authorised documents.
– Identify and measure deviations to agreed KPIs of suppliers and present findings in order to address performance.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification:
– Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : Degree in preferred certification from either APICS or CIPS
– Preferred certification in CMA/CFA/APICS or CIPS
Experience:
– In-Flight Service.In-flight Catering : 3+ Years
– Experience in Supply Chain & Logistics Management
– Any experience in airline catering will be added advantage
Knowledge/skills:
– Understanding of integrated supply chain and logistic concepts
– Analytical and data modelling skills
– Developed Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other analytical aids to help manage the operation
– Knowledge and experience in planning and forecasting systems
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
– Moderate level of knowledge of inventory analysis, product line setups, forecast creation and measurement
– Good understanding of escalation paths and trigger points
