Job Description
The opportunity
As part of Mace's global FM organisation, be the dedicated QHSEW lead on a new facilities management account for a leading global oil and gas client across multiple industrial and manufacturing sites in UAE and KSA (initially 14 sites including manufacturing, maintenance/overhaul, warehousing and offices). This is currently being mobilised and starts on 01 November 2022. This may expand to other countries with MENA in future. You will be based in the UAE and expected to travel regularly within the UAE and to KSA.
You will support the operations team and account manager to meet or exceed client's contractual requirements and KPIs for Mace's FM services contract across their portfolio.
To manage the development and implementation of the management systems, policies and procedures to support the client account. To provide support and advice to account operational teams.
You will also provide QHSEW support across some other accounts in UAE and Oman that will occupy perhaps 1-1.5 days per week on average.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the implementation of Mace Operate QHSEW policies, procedures, guidelines and standards and ensure these are aligned with clients requirements at local site level.
- Managing the account QHSEW legal compliance registers, communicate applicable changes and assure compliance in the country of operation.
- Assisting with audits on behalf of Mace Operate against Mace management system requirements and applicable ISO standards (including ISO 9001/14001/45001, ISO 27001)
- Managing the contractor QHSE prequalification of new and existing suppliers, and support onboarding to ensure they are instructed on Mace and client's QHSEW values and standards,
- Ensuring appropriate safe systems of work in place with supply chain to manage high-risk activities (including permit-to-work) and support operations team in monitoring the effectiveness of these.
- Assisting in the creation and coordination of the account annual audit and inspection schedule, undertake and provide support for operational audits as required.
- Reviewing current risk and compliance processes and procedures to ensure best practice and suitability for contract ensuring contract compliance and to undertake core contract data validation – identifying areas for improvement.
- Reviewing QHSEW impacts of proposed account contract changes.
- Training of Mace Operate staff, through the different medias, in all areas of QHSEW to ensure competence of account team.
- Supervising the incident investigations, ensure all associated paperwork is completed on time, prepare alerts and action findings.
- Promoting QHSEW management systems to all staff including coordinating QHSEW meetings, forums, and produce minutes as required.
- Collating monthly QHSEW reports, and other ad hoc reports as required – client and Mace Operate.
- Evaluating results of reporting, audits, corrective actions, operations reports, review all service level agreement and KPI's and ensure mechanisms are in place to enable accurate measurement, reporting and rectification – identifying gaps for improvement
- Identifying and communicating areas of improvement and best practice.
- Highlighting any risks that may damage the company's or the client's reputation or financial standing and suggest mitigating actions.
- Attending Mace Group H&S forums and meetings.
- Liaising and communicating with operate and Mace teams, site teams, supply chain and service partners.
- Supporting the Mace Operate QHSE department to provide more effective analysis of data to enable continual improvement and support QHSEW program improvements.
About you
You will have a degree qualification in occupational health and safety or diploma in NEBOSH, NVQ5, NCRQ Level 6 or local equivalent as a minimum educational attainment. You will have experience of facilities management and contractor H&S management. You will have knowledge of UAE, KSA and other ME region HSE regulations. You have knowledge of statutory maintenance requirements. You are a fluent English speaker and writer (Arabic or Asian languages would also be an advantage, due to local contractor work-force often being Asian).
You are digitally savvy and have good knowledge of MS Office software. You will provide support to strong motivated teams. You will have a facilities management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
