ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Finance Manager – Egypt is to keep our finances meticulously correct and powerfully informative. The Financial Manager will have both an immediate and lasting impact on all company operations. Being based out of the Cairo office, the FM shall be responsible for the financial operations across Egypt.
As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all facets of finance operations, including statutory financial reporting, management / investor reporting, audits, budgeting and planning, treasury management, as well as taxation and compliance. You will be required to build the financial foundation from the scratch, whilst catering to the fast paced requirement of a rapidly growing tech company.
We are looking for an experienced finance professional with a proven track record of leading multiple / international teams and having built a strong finance function. To be successful in the role, we need a motivated self-starter with an engaging personality and strategic acumen who thrives in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Manage all finance operations for Mondia Pay Egypt
- Prepare and manage financial reporting for local entities in Egypt as in coordination with Group Finance including, cash forecasts, monthly financial statements, quarterly/annual forecasts, annual budget, statutory annual reporting, and other ad hoc reports
- Examine, and analyze and prepare all accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports and assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Month-end and year-end close including review of bank recons, petty cash and balance sheet recons, updating fixed asset register, intercompany postings, period-end processing, consolidation accounting.
- Ensure statutory compliances and policies including tax returns preparation and payments, company insurances, treasury compliance, in each country we operate in.
- Manage invoicing and collections based on reports from accounts/sales team.
- Manage payments to local & international suppliers and other disbursements.
- Manage petty cash account.
- Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and setting policies and procedures (accounting and purchasing)
- Manage all auditing requirements with local and group auditors
- Proactively liaise with the bank, auditors, government agencies, persons and entities related to the job.
- Produce business cases, commercial analysis, attend to customer and supplier reviews, etc.
- Strategic and Operating plans including Forecasting
- Define, plan and communicate process
- Prepare assumptions and templates for forecasting
- Produce initial draft forecast
- Develop and validate plan
- Consolidate plan, review and approve
- Provide support from a financial perspective on all major business projects through:
- Assessment of the financial implication of the project to ensure reasonableness
- Post implementation financial evaluation through financial report preparation and feedback of analysis
- Maintain governance in respect of intercompany foreign activities such as loan repatriations, inter-company balance reconciliations, etc.
- Manage payment administration of benefits plans (health insurance, pensions, etc.)
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate has exceptionally high ownership, excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. They would also be highly focused on demonstrating excellence in service delivery and problem-solving; breaking down complex information into understandable and actionable items.
Other qualifications include:
- Relevant professional financial qualification CA (SA) preferable
- At least 6 years of general finance controlling and/or finance management experience (Fintech background)
- Significant experience with local tax management (corporate, payroll, etc), benefits contribution management, and payroll management
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting package, e.g. QuickBooks
- Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP
- Sub-Saharan and SA experience
- Knowledge of operations with ICT sector and Fintech
- Experience in financial statements, managing audits, business partnering and leading controls and statutory advice
- Experience with cash flow and tax optimization across African markets
- Financial experience in commercial business
- Experience in setting up new accounting and reporting structures/processes and drive further development of these instruments.
