What will you do?
Perform specialized and/or standardized processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider program policies and guidelines.
Prepare registration plans in liaison with SCOPE to ensure beneficiaries are enrolled in the SCOPE system.
Assess project performance including utilization of resources and participate in discussions on new or revised procedures and practices.
Conduct monitoring missions to ensure that the right entitlements go to the right beneficiaries.
Monitor pre-screening on the project site and sensitize the beneficiaries on entitlements, beneficiary selection criteria, and WFP’s objectives.
Work closely with implementing partners and ensure that Cooperating Partner (CP) reports are received, reviewed, and captured them into the COMET platform.
Perform accurate, timely recording of data (e.g., Cooperating Partner (CP) periodic reports, CPs invoices) following corporate standards and guidelines.
Prepare distribution lists and cycle creation requests for relief (Cash-based Transfer, Vouchers, and in-kind) based on the distribution plan and ultimately share them with the CAO management for their onward submission.
Regularly follow up with partners on stock balances, and expiry dates, guide CPs on distributions, and obtain reports as required.
Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing project activities
Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports to support operational decision-making.
Maintain accurate records, within the specific technical area of work.
Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.
Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP can quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Secondary school certificate. A post-secondary certificate, in administration, public health, nutrition, or related functional area is desirable.
Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible support experience in emergency assistance and humanitarian programs with good knowledge and experience working in relief, nutrition, SafetyNet, M&E, or livelihood-related program activities.
Language:
Proficiency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is a requirement.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relations with counterparts, government officials, including NGO partners, other UN agencies, and private businesses; Ability to plan and organize work, resourcefulness, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with various implementing partners (NGOs, UN agencies, government counterparts).
