This position provides overall sales management to all Producers in the Orange County office within the Employee Health & Benefits Division.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Planning and Sales Forecasting.
- Work with Producers to set annual sales goals and book growth objectives for each fiscal year.
- Set annual goals for education achievements, networking and COI development.
- Utilize Salesforce to review producers and overall division sales activity.
- Conduct monthly pipeline meetings with all Producers with all producers.
- Set objectives and clearly defined performance metrics at 90-day intervals for underperforming producers and un-validated/Investment Hire.
- Staffing and Managing.
- Work with Corporate Recruiter to find, attract and hire top quality producers and industry producer candidates. Hiring decisions will be made in conjunction with the CSO, Director of Employee Health & Benefits, Managing Directors and Practice Group Leader, as applicable.
- Promote and hold producers accountable for consistent usage of Salesforce as a tool for pipeline management.
- Responsible for annual performance evaluations, in conjunction with Practice Group Leaders and Managing Directors, and must provide frequent feedback and coaching on performance of each producer.
- Training.
- For new Producers, in conjunction with their assigned Mentor, manage a tailored 12 month Learning Path Program.
- Meet regularly with Investment Hires and their Mentor to ensure Learning Path performance and training is on track.
- Ensure new producers are on-boarded and get the technical training they need to be proficient.
- Conduct bi-weekly/monthly sales meetings for the Orange County office with input from the CSO and Orange County Business Leaders.
- Leadership and Organization.
- Collaborate with the CSO, Director of Employee Health & Benefits, and Practice Group Leader's assistance develop compelling messaging and value propositions for each Producer.
- Work with Marketing, Managing Directors and Practice Group Leaders to determine the best niche opportunities for each Producer.
- Selling.
- Frequently attend sales calls with Producers to evaluate performance and help MMA win new clients.
- Demonstrate good messaging, probing and closing skills and act as a role model for Producers
- Train producers on best practices in both sales and renewal process.
Education and/or Experience
Successful candidate will be a high energy sales and service oriented individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working at a varying pace, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, adjusting priorities often, and managing frequent interruptions.
- Successful work history to include 10 years experience in a professional office setting directly related to job responsibilities specified above, with progressively greater responsibility for making administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Must have a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the employee health benefits marketplace and a broad understanding of benefit insurance products.
- Maintain a valid unrestricted Life & Health Solicitor's License and meet continuing education requirements.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM system) with the ability to operate standard office equipment is required.
- Maintain a valid California Driver's License & have reliable transportation.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- 25% – 40% travel may be required. Travel consists of up to 5 overnight trips per year covering areas both in and out of state. In addition, 2 – 3 days per week are spent visiting clients and prospects in Southern California.
- Extended work hours (10 – 12 hrs/day) required on occasion due to attendance and participation at sales calls and industry functions that begin well before the workday, and may extend well into the evening.
