Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and with the direct supervision of the CLT Project Officer in the UNESCO Office in Jordan, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting CLT in the overall planning, coordination, development, implementation, management, reporting, and monitoring of the EU-funded Extrabudgetary Project "Support to livelihoods through cultural heritage development” (hereafter the Project)
The incumbent will assist in closely monitoring the achievement of the objectives and expected results by carrying out the following tasks:
Long Description
Support the operational management of all aspects of programme management including financial, procurement, contract and administrative planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, in line with UNESCO procedures and requirements.
Support quality and timely delivery of the Project’s activities, narrative and financial reports, and achievement of performance targets.
Support drafting and finalizing analytical periodic progress reports to donors (narrative and financial), briefings and other documents to be shared with the relevant donor, government authorities, or any other partner.
Support monitoring and evaluating of the Project, project site visits, and activities.
Long Description
Support in organizing of technical and steering committee meetings and in the required follow-ups.
Assist in identifying further needs, new areas of project development in the field of culture and sustainable development, and in developing concept notes for resource mobilization, in line with the Jordan Response Plan to the Syria Crisis, National Tourism Plan, and the four priority areas of the UNSDCF 2023-2027.
Support in the communication and visibility activities of the Project in close coordination with the supervisor and the Communication and Visibility Specialist.
Support the final evaluation reporting of projects.
Provide support to and perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor/or the Head of Office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Advanced University degree (Master or equivalent) in a field related to cultural heritage, architecture, heritage conservation and management, or a related field of specialization.
Work Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of cultural heritage, architecture, heritage conservation and management, or a related field of which at least 1 year acquired at an international level.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English language (both written and spoken).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Specialized education or training in architecture
Work Experience
Experience in reports writing and in elaborating and implementing cultural heritage programmes/projects.
Relevant professional experience in the UN System or other international development organization(s).

Languages
Knowledge of Arabic language.

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is 68 758 US $.
