Job Purpose:
The Candidate's main objective shall be to support the Group Corporate Tax Team in meeting the tax operational needs in the KSA and Kuwait.
The successful candidate shall work closely with the corporate team, businesses teams and service providers. The successful candidate shall take full ownership of all the tax compliances accounting and documentation. Further, he should support various teams in advisory and compliance matters for the Majid Al-Futtaim Group in the KSA.
Job Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
. Support the Group tax team to undertake all the below:
– Being tax compliant in the KSA and Kuwait
– Undertake all the applicable periodical compliances which include VAT, WHT, Corporate tax/ Zakat, or any other applicable tax
– Prepare all the back-up data i.e. schedules, working papers in relations to all taxes compliances as per the Group tax guidelines
– Review documentation which includes contracts, invoices etc. to determine the correct tax treatments
– Make all the companies Tax Audit ready
– Work closely with the consultants for review, finalization and filing of the tax compliances
– Coordinate with internal teams to undertake the required process changes as suggested by the consultants in order to rectify the periodical tax compliances
– Coordinate with the other internal teams to perform tasks from reporting to payment submission.
– Provide updates on any tax developments in the region and highlight their impact on the Company
– Undertake ad-hoc tax projects such as sale, merger etc. by preparing and providing adequate information
– Liaise with the tax authorities for all the ongoing litigations and other tax compliance
– Interact with business and finance teams to understand the tax needs and provide any tax support
– Managing the tax data on eDMS by ensuring relevant tax data is updated and retained in line with the Group Retention Policy.
– Implement any changes in the IT/ ERP systems to align to tax requirements
– Develop internal controls from an AR, AP, accounting standpoint to ensure that there is proper tax compliances
– Assist the Corporate team to implement any tax automation projects
– Align on any new accounting treatment from tax compliance point of view, with tax consultant as needed
Measure of Success – Illustrative KPIs:
. Timely and accurate submissions and tax compliance
. Assistance in tax matters to business and finance teams
. Ensure that the company is tax audit ready
. Timely follow up on tax regulations update and ensure implementation as per published law guidelines,
. Visit tax authority from time to time as required for work need
. Maintain proper archiving for all tax submissions working files, including but not limited to income tax return, VAT return, WHT forms,
. Align on any new accounting treatment from tax compliance point of view, with tax consultant as needed
Personal Characteristics and Required Background:
Skillset (job specific technical skills and behavioral competencies needed)

Minimum experience
. Minimum 4-5 years of similar experience, having worked in a Tax environment in a large organization, managing tax operational matters.
. Having work in a Big 4 tax firm or any other tax consultancy is recommended
. Having knowledge of real estate sector is recommended
Minimum education
. Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting is a must.
. Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/ ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW).
