Assistant General Counsel (Financing)
Job Description
Job Purpose
We are looking for a mid-level (3-8 PQE or equivalent) financing lawyer to join the Emirates Group Legal Financing team. This position will support the Associate General Counsel responsible for all aircraft and corporate finance matters of the Emirates Group.
As part of the world-class aircraft financing team at the world's largest international airline, you will be working on an extensive range of matters supporting our fleet of over 260 wide-body aircraft, as well as many other corporate finance transactions. This role will require collaboration with various internal and external parties and project management skills to ensure timely completion of aircraft deliveries, redeliveries, financings and re-financings. You will be working on a daily basis with key internal departments including Insurance, Engineering, Treasury, and Group Finance as well as a wide range of external counterparties including legal counsel, civil aviation authorities, corporate services providers, lessors, manufacturers and financiers. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and ability to balance multiple projects with flexibility, speed and cost focus. Banking and finance experience, preferably in aircraft, asset or project financing is required. Experience on the international registry is also preferred.
Your responsibilities in this role will include representing Emirates in reviewing, drafting, and advising on English/New York law governed finance contracts to include:
– LMA standard loan agreements to ensure compliance with the corporate position
– Aircraft and engine leasing and financing documents, amendments, extensions and terminations
– Bond issuance documentation (to include reviewing the prospectus and associated documents)
– Documentation management of the fleet through the Group's fleet management database
– Management of special purpose companies and registered securities.
If you have excellent academic credentials, strong English language skills and drafting experience with a leading regional or international law firm or in-house department of a major international corporation we are interested to hear from you.
Qualifications & Experience
Legal.Aviation Law : 3+ Years
Post Graduate Diploma (12+4 or equivalent) :
Knowledge/skills:
– Excellent analytical ability and strong English Language communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Excellent drafting skills in English documentation.
– Service-oriented, commercially aware and capable of working on a diverse range of client matters whilst maintaining a continuing grasp of the Group's long term commercial goals and the importance of achieving the same.
