Job Description:

  • Maintain accountability and visibility of ammunition stored at the Camp Arifjan ASP, and Al Jalail Theater Storage Area.

  • Identify shortages and provide power point slides for briefing shortages, monitoring on hand stocks for both operational and training ammunition, and keeping accountability and visibility of all munitions stored at the ASP and TSA.

  • Track the shipments of ammunition by air to Afghanistan. Provide Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft PowerPoint slides that show ammunition stock levels. Perform as a troubleshooter for issues involving Class V schedule shipments by air or ground within theater. Provide analysis of ammunition pallet shortages by destination.

  • Perform Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) ammunition retrograde and ammunition drawdown retrograde tracking using the Global Transportation Network (GTN), analysis, on slides for briefing purposes.

  • Provide stock status reports for serviceable and unserviceable ammunition.

  • Receive Ammunition Basic Load (ABL) requests from units on Camp Arifjan and approve the requests after analyzing the unit’s authorizations, DA 1687, assumption of command orders. Tracking ABL request status weekly and providing this status to the Brigade Ammunition Office OIC and NCOIC.

  • Track SAAS-MOD communications daily for the ASP and TSA in order to ensure connectivity is maintained. Provide connectivity status daily to the BAO OIC and NCOIC.

  • Assist the TSA with SAAS-MOD operations support when requested by the BAO OIC.

  • Track quarterly ammunition re-supply vessel inventory status. Provide daily status to the BAO OIC and NCOIC of change to the Stock Record Account (SRA) of the TSA.

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in support of SAAS Systems in the Brigade.

  • Provide trends analysis and a briefing slide that shows ammunition trends to be identified by the BAO OIC.

  • Conduct a monthly audit of the TSA ammunition transactions & advise the USG if the TSA stock control section is following proper procedures. .

  • Duties will be performed in accordance with AR 710-1 (CENTRALIZED INVENTORY MANAGEMENT OF THE ARMY SUPPLY SYSTEM), AR 710-2 (SUPPLY POLICY BELOW THE NATIONAL LEVEL), AR 735-5 (PROPERTY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ACCOUNTABILITY), DA PAM 710-2-2 (SUPPLY SUPPORT ACTIVITY SUPPLY SYSTEM: MANUAL PROCEDURES), DA PAM 385-64 (AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES SAFETY STANDARDS), FM 4-30.1 (MUNITIONS DISTRIBUTION IN THE THEATER OF OPERATIONS), FM 4-30.13 (AMMUNITION HANDBOOK: TACTICS, TECHNIQUES, AND PROCEDURES FOR MUNITIONS HANDLERS) and Munitions Branch guidance.

  • Conduct Staff Assistance Visits to the TSA when requested by the BAO OIC.

  • Provide BAO Battle Update Briefing (BUB) Microsoft Power Point slides.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

– 5 years of Theater/Operational level Conventional Ammunition Management experience, to include the distribution and accountability of ammunitions.

– 3 years SAAS experience as a SAAS operator conducting data entry daily for the three years. Proficient in SAAS set-up, loading of software, loading of software upgrades, operations, procedures and practices, to include maintenance of SAAS connectivity, processing of Daily Cycles and Reports, support of normal inventory operations, and proper accountability of stocks.

– Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.

– Must have an active Secret Clearance
