SENIOR MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Summary
Performs and acts in a lead capacity for a specialized subsection/unit function of a laboratory section.Essential Responsibilities and Duties
2. Ensures that optimum levels of supplies are available to provide uninterrupted services maintains an ordering and supply inventory system.
3. Assists in development of new methodologies and the evaluation of new equipment. Updates policy and procedure manuals in accordance with specified guidelines.
4. Performs analyses, tests and procedures per established Laboratory standards, maintaining quality control of the subsection. Participates in the Quality Assurance programs of the section. Investigates incident reports and implements associated corrective action. Maintains equipment repair logs and equipment operation, maintenance and repair records of subsection.
5. Assists Section Supervisor in ongoing employee performance appraisal. Counsels subordinates to improve performance.
6. Orients,trains, provides continuing education, and guides lower graded personnel, other laboratory and healthcare personnel, students, and residents. Assists the section supervisor in evaluation of potential employment candidates. Implements and maintains appropriate laboratory safety procedures and practices.
7. Performs technical duties as assigned including weekends, night-shifts, and on call coverage.Education
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related discipline is required.Experience Required
Two (2) years of relatedexperience with Master's or four (4) years with Bachelor's Degree is required.
Four (4) years as Senior Medical Technologist at KFSH&RC.
.Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.. One hundred (100) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].Other Requirements(Certificates)
