Summary
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
2. Coordinates the development and maintenance of continuous Performance Improvement programs.
3. Participates in department PI activities, including but not limited to: problem identification, resolution, and re-evaluation. Collects and/or compiles supporting data as required or assigned.
4. Represents the Respiratory Care Services department in all JCIA issues and acts as the department representative for the Allied Health Quality Management Committees.
5. Coordinates the development and revision of all policies and procedures. Maintains RCS department's policies and procedures database and ensures that the revision schedule complies with Joint Commission International Accreditation requirements.
6. Performs literature searches for supporting information on new existing treatment or modalities as required or assigned.
7. Provides information and training to RCS staff regarding: changes, alerts or updates in function or utilization of equipment. Prepares and presents reports on issues impacting the delivery of quality and safe services organization-wide relative to the assi ned function component(s).
8. Coordinates all RCS Department functions regarding accreditation preparation, which include but are not limited to: chart audits, mock tracers, policies and procedures, and maintains related databases.
9. Maintains the Adverse Occurrence Reporting System (AORS) RCS database and ensures appropriate responses are provided in a thorough and timely manner.
10. Liaises with departments/divisions organization-wide regarding the assigned functional components within the QM organizational structure.
11. Conducts educational sessions at the Department and Unit based areas on quality issues. Provides coverage for other RCS staff as assigned.
12. Provides coferage for other RCS staff as assigned.
13. Participates in self and others education, training and development. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.

Experience Required
Other Requirements(Certificates)
– Respiratory Therapy Registry (RRT) from NBRC or CSRT is preferred.
-Management, Leadership, Quality Management training certification is preferred.
