Job Description
Job Purpose
Manage mid to short term (12 month) revenue optimisation market strategies to maximise revenue at acceptable yields and seat factor, utilising PROS OD, Pricing & distribution strategy, and demand management analysis tools with the goal of achieving company profitability target.
Ensure market strategy is formulated in conjunction with the Commercial teams and it is translated into measurable Key Performance Indicators i.e., Channel, Segment, market share, point-of sale, OD forecast, yield, seat factor and SLAs.
Maximise network traffic flow and revenue through the effective use of PROS OD, MIS (MIDT/DDS), Channel distribution & NDC capability.
Ensure Revenue Optimisation standards and procedures are defined, communicated, and enforced across all areas of Revenue Optimisation & Business, Staff are comprehensively trained across all aspects of Revenue Optimisation and developed in line with departmental KPIs.
Job Accountabilities
– Implement the agreed Revenue Optimisation strategy for Emirates that includes the integration of Origin and Destination management, Pricing and multi-channel sales strategies, revenue targets, yield targets, flight management targets for the assigned regions.
– Evaluate trends in market conditions using information available from various sources, including market intelligence reports relative to competitor activities, political/economic trends/industry development and drive route profitability encompassing optimum cabin/class/point of sale mix.
– Evaluate trends in global aviation landscape using externally published information and through market intelligence from various sources relating to competitor activities, geo-political developments, economic forecasts, and market behaviours, to drive overall revenue maximisation through aiding informed business decision making in the revenue management domain.
– Plan, develop and implement strategy for HR management and People development (including recruitment and selection policy/practices, counselling, training, morale and motivation, culture and attitudinal development, performance appraisals and quality management issues.
– Lead and drive management/analysts team ensuring efficient implementation of Revenue Optimisation strategies and operational mechanisms. Develop staff through PM (Performance Matters) setting clear objectives to achieve optimal performance. Conduct regular reviews of monthly KPI performance reports to ensure all staff are performance managed to the appropriate levels.
MRO Market Operations:
– Develop, propose, and agree on mid-term (1-3 year) revenue optimisation strategy for Emirates that
includes the integration of origin and destination management, pricing, and multi-channel sales strategies, revenue targets, yield targets, flight management targets for the assigned region. Direct regional Revenue Optimisation team regarding demand/pricing/ flight management strategy. Key stakeholder in forecast meetings providing guidance to SVP CO using accurate and meaningful forecast & MIS data highlighting revenue earning opportunities.
– Drive regional route profitability along with SVP CO encompassing optimum cabin/class/point of sale mix. Develop strategy & establish analytical methodology to support new routes during the launch phase to align with planning revenue/seat factor estimates.
– Steer and manage monitoring mechanisms for fare utilisation, channel, segment, forecast movements , seat factor performance and route yield movements by cabin for the regions assigned.
– Optimise revenues by developing segmentation strategies across all Origins and Destinations, especially new routes, using processes, procedures and controls related to Pricing, Origin and Destination forecasting and flight optimisation. Ensure adequate demand is always created across the network for optimal inventory allocations and profitable decision making for each Origin & Destination/price by controls/procedures for forecasting/optimisation systems.
– Ensure both route and market strategies are in place across a rolling 52-week period and necessary
controls are in place to promote network traffic flow in close collaboration and agreement with Inventory are implemented within PROS OD or MARS in a timely manner. Disseminate forecast information to the leadership team and highlight revenue earning opportunities.
– Ensure targets with respect to yields and revenues by region are maximised on critical flights in close co-ordination with Inventory to ensure revenue maximisation objectives are met.
– Ensure Quality Assurance collaborating with Pricing & Distribution and Revenue Accounts to ensure accuracy of all fare rules across all passenger's segments and distribution platforms including Channels. Ensure all fare quote discrepancies are escalated and followed up for closure to ensure minimal revenue leakage.
– Ensure optimal use of pricing tools/automation to drive efficiency. Liaise with PD for coding optimization strategies which enable to simplify complex rules coding structures and support efficient database maintenance. Support PD in the developing trends and technology to automate processes related to fare-filing as well as new distribution methodologies to quality assess fares and rules to improve speed to market and minimize revenue impact.
– Support S&P in ensuring procedures and documentation are regularly reviewed, improved, agreed, communicated, and understood across all Revenue Optimisation operational teams.
– Collaborate with S&P in ensuring training programs designed to cover new hire inductees into RO, national recruitment employees, graduate programme recruits, new or existing system training and refresher training programs.
– Ensure participation in the Revenue Optimisation best practise strategy and structure development ensuring key guidelines are in place for each RO best practise disciplines.
Qualifications & Experience
– Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
– Finance & Insurance.Revenue Accounting 10+ Years
– Degree with an emphasis on Mathematics, Business, Marketing and Pricing (revenue management) disciplines.
– Experience in the airline industry with a relevant carrier, 5 years of which have been spent in the areas dealing with inventory management, demand modelling, fares, tariffs, ticketing, on-line passenger pricing or revenue management.
– Experience in the use of PROS or other OD systems and methodologies preferred.
