Job Description
Title:Lead Process Engineer
KBR has been awarded a Master Services to perform a number of projects of covering the following project phases: Conceptual studies / Pre-FEED / FEED and EPC Management scopes for a Giant Onshore Oilfield
Our Project Delivery Team along with key COMPANY personnel will be carrying out Engineering Studies required for Facilities and Infrastructure that are crucial to sustain or grow production.
The scope of work is multi-project with, typically, numerous projects proceeding in parallel.
Job Responsibilities:
Leading the Process Discipline you will advise, and contribute to the following:
- Leading a team either within a large project or for smaller projects
- Control manhours and budget and ensure process work is completed in line with the project schedule
- Approval, checking or support the production of :
- process simulations to produce heat and material balances,
- process and utility flow diagrams,
- piping and instrument diagrams,
- calculations for the design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc. and to develop system design parameters.
- process hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizing
- piping and instrument data to support downstream disciplines
- Leading the development of concepts from client specifications
- supporting and producing technical and techno-economic studies
- responsible for the development of advanced controls/process optimization
- Liaison with other disciplines, project management and client
Skills / Experience:
- Experience leading a team of more than 10 process engineers.
- Experience communicating across a multi-discipline team and across different offices.
- Understanding of requirements of other disciplines as part of project execution.
- Experience of workhour control and working to schedule and within budget on a major project.
- Good organizational skills
- Developing presentations and experience communicating with client team
- Understanding of development of proposals for new projects
- Must be able to drive quality within the process team and ensure high standards are met in the terms of consistency and checking of deliverables
- Clear understanding of complex equipment sizing calculations and have experience specifying equipment
- Experience of complex relief valve sizing cases and preparation of calculations
- Experience of vessel and exchanger specification and sizing
- Experience taking a leading role in a safety review (Hazop/SIL/LOPA)
- Experience of developing hydraulic calculations for complex circuits
- Good understanding of process control and experience developing/checking cause and effect diagrams
- Strong written communication skills and experience of writing technical reports.
- Self-motivated and a good communication skills to enable effective team working.
- Flexibility to work across a number of different technologies.
- Experience building simulation models in Hysys/Promax or similar simulation tool for complex simulations and ability to explain / train younger engineers
- Experience of working on conceptual studies
- Experience training/mentoring younger engineers either informally or through a formal training scheme
- Experience using COMOS
- Experience with oil trains, produced water facilities, degassing stations
Qualifications:
- BSc degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- 18+ years experience working with a major EPC contractor or operator.
