In this role, you will supervise and coordinate the execution of work in the Gate movements and maintaining discipline.

Optimize use of resources to achieve production targets. To ensure the process, record the documentations, and physical flow through the terminal gates for Import/Export FCL containers, non-container cargo, and empty containers receiving and releasing.

Job-responsibilities (not limited to):

Supervision of sub-ordinates:

  • Organize and supervise the work of the assigned team to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
  • Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
  • Provide recommendations on new subordinate hires and ensure the availability of all resources required to perform assigned tasks and activities.

Pre-gate operations:

  • Supervise the hauler registry at pre-check office.
  • Controls the arrival and departure of all non-containerized cargo and containers to/from the terminal.
  • Assure visual observation occurred by pre-check clerk comparing TOS data against the received delivery documents.
  • Ensure accurate registry of truck visit information updated in TOS.
  • Control and register identification comparing it with documentation cargo marks, custom clearance and container numbers.
  • Follow-up of IMO containers registry prior gate in and assure relevant placard are installed.
  • Block the gate in/out passage in case of awkward circumstances (non-authorized passage – damages) with immediate involvement of Operations Superintendent. Ensure that date quality used in the Operating Systems (TOS) always is of highest integrity and maintained in a timely fashion.
  • Manage staff roster and annual leaves plan.
  • Coordinate required official facilities/stationery for the staff.
  • Coordination with vendors/suppliers for regular service/maintenance required for work related supplies – such as Weight Bridge, Printers, Toners and administration supplies etc.
  • Maintaining proper recording of events and ensure smooth handling over to the upcoming shift. To conduct regular toolbox, talk for the staff during their duties.
  • Communicate and coordinate with respective customers for process implementation, clarifications, justifications, and complaints.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • High School or equivalent experience in the same position.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in port operations
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English.
  • computer and Microsoft office skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Good organizing and planning skills.
