JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Merchandise Planner you have end-to-end accountability for a defined part of the business. You are responsible for defining the financial KPI plan that is reflective of your unit's strategy for a season which you have determined with your category manager counterpart. You have accountability for steering the unit in-season to reach the financial KPIs you define. To deliver your role you are confident in using forecasting and reporting tools and use your experience of managing several end-to-end planning cycles to mitigate risk and capture in-season opportunities.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
. Demonstrate accountability of leading end-to-end planning cycle for a defined area due to your previous experience working in Merchandise Planning or a similar commercially facing analytical role. You translate annual company targets into a merchandise financial plan (MFP) in alignment with overall strategy and growth areas and determine targets for sales, intake margins, markdown, sell-through and OTB.
. You work hand in hand with the Category Manager and Buyers translating the MFP into a top-down assortment plan framework based on quantitative and qualitative in-season analysis and strategic growth initiatives.
. You guide the buying team in product buy quantification through mid-season recaps, ensure the pareto principle is followed and reconcile with the assortment plan to meet the financial targets per brand / product category etc.
. By tracking OTB vs Purchase Orders vs Inventory Receipt you create transparency of potential deviations and initiate course-correcting action items like additional OTB release or stock cancellation.
. You lead weekly performance reviews with your units through which it is ensured that business performance is constantly monitored so that short term improvement actions on stock, pricing, onsite can be taken and learnings are highlighted.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
. Bachelor's degree in Business or comparable field. 3-5 years Merchandising/Planning experience (preferably within eCommerce) with proven end to end ownership for at least 3 planning cycles. Confidence in using both planning and forecasting tools to determine risks and opportunities – familiarity utilizing at least one merchandise planning software is highly beneficial.
