Job Description Summary:

The architectural site engineer will oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards.

As an architectural site engineer, you could be responsible for a whole site architectural works or, with larger schemes, you may be responsible for part of a project and report to the site manager, who may be taking care of one or several projects at the same time.

Before work starts, an architectural site engineer gets things ready by taking on staff, and preparing the site, carefully planning the work to be done and installing temporary offices for site staff.

While work is taking place, the architectural site engineer will monitor progress, oversee delivery of materials and carry out safety checks and sort out any problems which could hold up work as they arise. An architectural site engineer will also keep in close contact with members of their site team at all times, and liaise with other disciplines engineers, surveyors and planners. He will also ensure that work complies with building regulations and health and safety legislation as well as other legal requirements.

Finally, an architectural site engineer also acts as the first point of contact for members of the public and sub-contractors.

It is the responsibility of the architectural site engineer to make sure that the deadline for completing architectural works is met under the supervision of the site manager, and as an architectural site engineer you will at least share some of the responsibility if someone on your site has an accident.

Responsibilities:

Managing all architectural construction works in one project or more. Overseeing architectural site work.
Undertaking surveys.
Setting out sites and organizing facilities.
Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly. Supervising contracted staff.
Ensuring works to be accomplished meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales.
Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager.
Providing technical advice and solving problems on site. Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork.
Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

Architectural site engineer works out on a construction site in all weather and tends to work on one project at a time. Depending on the location of the project, they might need to relocate or complete a lengthy commute.

Qualifications and training required

Architectural Engineering Graduates with an accredited degree in engineering.
5 Years of experience in construction projects, where most of the same shall be working as an architectural site engineer.
Must have a gulf experience.
Relevant certification in project management, or project controls, or project planning will be an advantage.
