Organizational Background

Duties and Responsibilites
Participate in the development and implementation of financial and administrative policies and procedures for the Area Office.
Perform bank reconciliations, disbursements, clearance of receivables, overall cash
management and monthly financial closures on a regular basis in accordance with
corporate requirements.
Coordinate the provision of a range of services such as facilities management, travel, protocol, and light vehicle management.
Assist managers in cash forecasting and the elaboration of resource requirements for budget submission.
Prepare budget performance reports with analysis between approved budget and actual expenditures’ using various sources.
Institute and evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems to help safeguard corporate assets and minimise financial risks.
Monitor the daily cash position and initiate replenishment decisions on a timely manner.
Regularly liaise with head office to ensure that payments are processed in a timely manner.
Prepare and analyse financial and statistical reports for the various activity managers and guest houses.
Where necessary, deliver core administrative services, working with contractors and
following standard processes to provide cost-effective, quality and timely services to WFP.
Supervise operations of different administrative tasks including screening, indexing, classifying, storing, and disseminating information.
Prepare and consolidate complex reports, briefing notes and other documentation as may be requested.
Coordinate a wide range of actions related to human resource, work planning, financial management and administrative requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualification
Education: Advanced University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related fields, or First University degree in the same subject(s) with additional years of related work experience plus membership in an international recognized professional accountancy body such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Certified Public Accounts (ICPA) or equivalent.
Experience: Four years or more of progressive professional experience in Finance and Administrative Operations, preferably in an international organization, embassy, or UN system.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somalia language is a requirement.

Contract Duration: 3 Months
