Training Officer
Job Description
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Research, design and develop appropriate training courses or workshops that would include classroom, on job, e-learning, self-directed study, and blended approaches for all DTS staff. All training workshops will be expected to include supporting materials / manuals / quick reference guides and assessment question papers, so as to ensure that the training provided meets required standards. Ensure that EK Training College has an overview of all the course material.
- Conduct training needs analysis, adapting / improving training course materials to meet department needs.
- Combine strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to deliver interactive training sessions relevant to the area of trainer expertise; stimulate learner involvement and learning through innovative role-plays, discussions.
- Develop and administer appropriate assessment tools to assess and ensure that learning objectives are met. Support any post-course evaluations or service audits functions if required by Line Departments. Continuously evaluate training programs and improve or enhance the programs as appropriate ensuring that learning objectives are met.
- Undertake special projects as required (within the scope of training) to achieve business objectives aiming for enhanced service quality, best working practices and/or productivity improvements.
- Prepare a comprehensive yearly training schedule. Oversee the administration functions to ensure that training nominations, confirmations, relevant pre-course materials are sent well in advance. Maintain training records for all training programs conducted as per guidelines set by the Department.
- Assist Line Managers in identifying specific business competency related trainings that would help in professional development of staff. Monitor, guide and counsel trainees on their performance as well as play a mentoring role to support the individual learning process. Conduct end of course interviews with individual participants on their overall performance and where applicable, review ongoing development plans.
Experience:
- Training Experience in Travel and Tourism, Holidays 3+ Years
- Experience operations, front-line sales within a travel agency. Excellent knowledge of DTS's preferred GDS and DTS in-house systems like travelogix ACE SalesForce etc. Must have also a minimum of one year in a training role.
- Ability to communicate effectively, using highly developed written, verbal and presentation skills with creativity and innovation. Excellent knowledge of GDS systems, Salesand Force.
- Thorough knowledge of the IATA rules and regulations involved in the operational area of a travel agency.
