Leads and sets priorities for execution of Lean initiatives across the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units Projects Quality organization. Responsible for working with the Gas Power HDNU Projects Quality and value stream leaders, Gas Power HDNU & Quality Lean Leaders, and the supporting functions, to establish a customer-focused process improvement strategy, which drives systemic quality and process improvements in line with business/functional objectives.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
As the Projects Quality Lean Leader (m/f) you will:
- Shape the continuous improvement vision across the HDNU Projects Quality organization with a focus on (1) customer escapes reduction, (2) warranty service notices reduction, and (3) HDNU Projects CoPQ, in accordance with the business Lean strategy, and translate the vision into goals, objectives and strategies resulting in cross-functional transformation which delivers consistent, year-over-year results
- Coach cross-functional teams in building problem solving capabilities and leading Kaizen Events to ensure operations perform in a consistent and best-in-class manner
- Support the Gas Power Issue Resolution process with a focus on effective containment of HDNU Projects customer escapes and improved non-conformance data quality
- Build and deploy standard work for evaluating implemented countermeasures for effectiveness and sustainment
- Work with the Quality value stream leaders to assess current baselines for quality performance and determine the processes to be improved using the Lean methodologies
- Support simplification of the complex processes and manage cross-functional relationships to support business impact
- Lead the implementation of standard operating rhythms and provide key output data, metrics and presentations for reporting, operations reviews, and business communications
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent knowledge/experience or college
- Significant experience in Quality and/or project operations with proven track record of results using Lean methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills, experience of managing cross-functional projects
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated ability in solving complex problems and transforming results and process through the application of Lean techniques
- Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching the core tools such as Daily Management, structured Problem Solving, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvement
- Specific experience in root causing and CAPA implementation
- Experience driving enterprise-wide transformation preferably in a major turn-around. The ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations bringing a will to win with strong followership
- Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work around the world because they are accountable, trustworthy, credible, committed, and intellectually agile
- Change agent, able to make the case for Lean and demonstrate immediate impact
- Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change
- Critical thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities
- Ability to drive process simplification and influence others with effective communication
