We are hiring a
Senior Data Architect – Healthcare (Remote)
who will provide vision, leadership, and implementation of an enterprise wide cloud native healthcare data lake. You will bring your extensive experience ingesting and managing EMR, clinical, claims, demographic, and other healthcare data at scale to support our analytics, automation, and machine learning teams. You will be a thought partner with business stakeholders, understanding company goals and ROI, and collaborating on strategies and approaches. You are an expert in modern healthcare data lake technologies and approaches. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this is a high visibility role with the potential to have a significant impact on a rapidly growing company.
Design, implement, and optimize a cloud native healthcare data lake.
Manage the data lifecycle for all source, derived, and exported data.
Manage the systems that clean, normalize, and translate various data flows in HL7, FHIR, and other common healthcare formats.
Analyze current data lake offerings and lead the assessment and recommendation of the technical strategy.
Create data monitoring models for each product
Create data quality automation infrastructure.
Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management and executive teams
Translate business requirements into data streams, databases, data warehouses, and other information products.
Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features.
Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
Educate staff members through training and individual support.
Building out and maintaining a data warehouse through modeling and schema design
Drive DevOps and infrastructure as code efforts
Create procedures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
Maintain PHI, HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST compliance.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must
have at least a Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of experience
in healthcare data-lake design, implementation, and optimization or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience in multiple database technologies such as distributed processing big Data platforms like AWS, GCP and tools like Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, AWS Glue, Python/PySpark. etc. Demonstrated experience with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC-2, and healthcare PHI required.
Relevant AWS Certifications. Nice to have: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
Experience with Healthcare data structures (EHR/EMR or claims), including normalization, deduplication, identity reconciliation, MDM/MPI.
Proven fluency in SQL and a development language such as Python
Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining
Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems
Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and Data Warehousing design, tooling, and support
Understanding of different data formatting (JSON, CSV, XML) and data storage techniques (3NF, EAV Model, Star Schema, Data Lake)
Proficiency in data visualization tools
Good written and verbal communication skills
