The retail segment space is going through a lot of transformation with retail players diversifying their core revenue though value added services, next-generation loyalty and innovative product offering as well as reimagining payments. This has created a huge acceleration opportunity for Mastercard to drive the growth of the retail sector by being a major technology provider to retailers across payment, loyalty, data analysis & decisioning, safety & security and other services beyond payments.
The key area of responsibility for this role is business development across the retail players and building deepening Mastercard’s relationship with key merchants and digital players.
Key focus would be:
• Positioning MC as strategic technology partner, critical to profitability/ growth of business
• Deepening relationship with key retailers, building a holistic engagement across various business levels and level of seniority
• Driving co brand/core share growth and deepening our services with focus on data, analytics and loyalty
• Partnering with the product and services organization for building scalable sales/value propositions across retail players to drive revenues
• Building long term strategic roadmaps with customers to deliver on their strategy
• Driving thought leadership for the retail segment internally and externally
Purpose of the Job
The role is overall responsible to drive account management across key retailers thereby driving growth for Mastercard share and revenues. The incumbent will be responsible for cross matrix collaboration and leadership in driving MasterCard business with KPIs across volume, core revenue, cross sales revenue and strategic initiatives. This role will be based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
•Own and drive strategic account plan with existing and new customers to enable their growth and embed MA assets, including a defined engagement model
•Lead multiple projects across customer segment base in collaboration with products, services, and marketing teams, quickly grasp new ideas and simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability and roadmap
•Responsible for commercialization of the signed partnership deals.
•Responsible for reviews of the overall performance of the defined group of key clients, and for managing the relationship and profitability
•Identify and develop new opportunities with key retailers to increase Mastercard share and volume, as well as developing new revenue streams
•Identify and analyze new opportunities within the assigned set of accounts and assist in the development of end-to-end solutions from both a technical and business perspective.
•Leverage in-depth knowledge of merchant solutions and payment eco-systems.
•Develop financial modelling and business cases for identified opportunities
•Work with Mastercard cross functional teams to identify new growth and product opportunities and develop/ execute bespoke propositions to maximize penetration of services with merchants.
•Project sponsor initiatives – from concept through to implementation including the commercials, solution creation, contracts, project and stakeholder management.
•Responsible for the deliverables for defined group of key clients, in collaboration with the merchants, digital products and digital partnerships team.
•Create and develop executive calling plans and build C suite relationships.

•Strong expertise of working with retailers and new technologies in the retail industry.
•Can operate in white space and come up with new business models
•Complex “strategy through execution” projects; strategy in general but also sales and operations projects/change management/business transformation
•Proven success of Development of new business/ start-ups
•Understanding of p&l and how to start and scale a business
•Track record of building and growing complex partnerships
•Payment industry experience/understanding of payment and information flows
•Results driven, entrepreneurial and a proactive self-starter, requires minimal supervision.
•A high level of business acumen and thought leadership is required
•Strong interpersonal and relationship management, able to navigate complex conversations
•Strong track-record for engagements at C-Level
•Long-term strategic view mind-set
