Duties & Responsibilities
1- Work with clinical team to understand the nature of the scientific work that they will be covering.
2- Conduct research to enhance their background understanding, and evaluate and analyze the information they will be writing about.
3- Medical Journalist compile, write, and edit medical writing deliverables covering all phases of clinical research for submission to regulatory agencies.
4- Write scientific copy for a broad medical audience, including scientific liaisons, healthcare professionals, and pharmaceutical representatives.
5- Make sure that all deliverables are in accordance with regulations, standards, and guidelines. The Medical Journalist must understand the levels of evidence required to achieve regulatory, marketing and regulatory goals.
6- Stay current with Medical literature, advancements, emerging science, technological developments and medical trends.
7- Write summaries and maintain files on informative medical and scientific journal articles.
8- Creative content development.
9- Producing articles for publication in print and online according to agreed style, and keeping to strict deadlines
10- Conducting interviews with scientists, doctors and academics and establishing a network of industry experts
11- Attending academic and press conferences
12- Visiting research establishments
13- Reading and researching specialist media and literature, e.g. scientific papers, company reports, newspapers, magazines and journals, press releases and internet resources including social media
14- Attending meetings or taking part in conference calls with clients, scientists or other writers
15- Meeting with colleagues to plan the content of a document or publication
16- Conducting reference searches
17- Reviewing and amending work in response to editor feedback
18- Selecting appropriate artwork to accompany articles
19- Reading page proofs from printers and checking color proofs.
