Communications Consultant

The purpose of this scope of work is to develop official communication materials for USAID MTaPS Jordan program. The consultant will develop communication materials for newsletters, success stories, news updates, and other materials as needed. The consultant will also support the technical team in reviewing, editing, and formatting technical documents.

This work will require a senior communications professional with experience in international NGO settings, preferably USAID-funded projects.

Supervision and reporting responsibility: The consultant will be supervised by and report to the Country Project Director of MTaPS Jordan. The consultant will liaise with other members of the country team, Communications team at MTaPS headquarters and regional technical staff, and work in collaboration with other stakeholders as needed.

Description of Services to be provided

– In coordination with the director and technical leads, prepare official program communication and documentation, such as reports, success stories, press releases, and newsletter articles, including drafting, editing, and translating as needed.

– Work in close collaboration with global MTaPS Communications team for guidance, review, USAID branding compliance, and finalizing the material for submission to USAID newsletter and publishing on MTaPS website and social media channels.

– Support the technical team in reviewing, editing, and formatting technical documents.

1. Support for completion of year 4 annual report.

2. Report on multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs) training.

3. Success story on MDRO training.

4. Support for completion of quarter 1 report.

5. Completion of Training Report for the Basic Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Training.

6. Success story on Basic IPC Training.

7. Procurement and Supply Chain Management in Jordan Technical Highlight.

8. Procurement and Supply Chain Management in Jordan Success Story.

9. Procurement and Supply Chain Management in Jordan Technical Note.

10. Report on Communication and Awareness Activities for School Students (CASS).

11. Success story on CASS.

12. Support for completion of quarter 2 report.

13. Success story on Certified IPC Training.

14. Report on AMR awareness workshop for dentists.

15. Success story on AMR awareness activity for dentists.

16. Success story on Royal Medical Services Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.

17. Supporting the Jordanian Royal Medical Services to establish a Comprehensive Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Technical Highlight.

18. Review of other Procurement and Supply Chain Management documents.

19. Review of other AMR and IPC related documents.

20. Support for completion of quarter 3 report.

21. Report on Certificates Dissemination Event for the Certified IPC Training.

22. Review of the Organizational Strategic Plan for the Procurement and Supply Directorate.

23. Provide support for producing official letters.

24. Provide support for reviewing technical presentations for all technical areas.

Consultant qualification requirements:

– B.S. in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field

– 2-4 years of experience in developing communications and informative materials, with at least 1 year in international nonprofit organization or program

– Background in communicating for technical area of work, including preparing comprehensive reports, executive summaries, and letters while integrating technical information

– Prior experience with USAID projects preferred

– Excellent writing and editing skills with native-level fluency in English and Arabic

– Experience working with teams from different technical areas and backgrounds

– Experience in media outreach and drafting posts for Twitter and Facebook preferred

– Demonstrated ability in MS Word and PowerPoint

– Organized and detail oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
