QHSE Manager
Job Description
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the day to day operations of the QHSE function.
Establish, coordinate, and monitor the quality assurance program and work closely with department managers to plan, schedule, and implement QA& QC related activities.
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
Create and supervise the preparation of QHSE plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities.
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law and standards.
Conduct training and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention.
Perform operational risk assessments and design risk mitigation measures.
Develop required documentation, operational inspections and reports for QHSE.
Establish QHSE audit plans and coordinate audit schedules by working closely with Internal Auditors.
Prepare internal audit reports and follow-up audit activities in order to verify audits and record the implementation and effectiveness of actions taken.
Provide QHSE improvement plan of QHSE non-conformance, propose corrective action(s), required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation.
Investigate accidents or incidents and near misses to discover causes, identify trends and suggest improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
Investigate the root cause of QHSE customer complaints and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor the implementation of Job Safety Analysis and inspect job site activities during particularly difficult or hazardous work situations.
Ensure total compliance to FSMS (Food Safety Management System) to confirm safe food has been delivered to employees.
Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in an emergency and maintain records.
Supervise the regular inspection of firefighting, safety and emergency response equipment.
Conduct health and safety training and ensure that employees receive QHSE inductions.
Monitor compliance to QHSE policies ensuring the proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform inspections, risk assessments and auditing to observe all QHSE related activities within the company departments and locations.
Prepare weekly and monthly QHSE reports, statistics and analysis related to the integrated QHSE management system.
Consult with the Management for any changes that affect the QHSE management system.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial safety, occupational health, environmental science, Science/Engineering or equivalent
Professional certifications and qualifications in safety management, risk assessment and the basics of occupational health and safety standards.
6 – 8 years of experience in relevant field.
Qualified in implementation of QMS , QHSE practices and auditing techniques that is compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Deep understanding of health and safety guidelines, data analysis and health & safety reports and statistics.
Proficient Computer skills, Operating systems, Microsoft Office suite and others.
High level of verbal and written communication skills ( English Language).
Valid Kuwait Driving license is required.
