FOR THE Program Officer-Youth Program

The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) is looking to hire a skilled Program Officer to join our team. The program officer will develop a project’s plans and budgets, follow up on the project’s activities in line with timeframe, scope, and budget, manage stakeholders, watch risks, submitting progress reports throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsible:

The Program Officer will report to the Project Manager, mainly aiming to support the Royal Health Awareness Society in planning and implementing field interventions to promote health messages at the community level and mobilize communities to adopt healthy behaviors.

The program officer will utilize training, coaching, awareness sessions, group counseling, and innovative outreach activities according to preplanned activities and set budgets, targeting various beneficiaries’ age groups and reporting against the approved outputs and objectives.

Leading roles & responsibilities of the Program Officer include:

  • Support the project manager in planning and implementing activities in targeted areas.
  • Support the project manager in developing the material, training, and information education & Communication Material.
  • Conduct field monitoring and follow-up visits of implemented activities. Develop reports on implemented activities against set targets.
  • Formulate testimonials and success stories highlighting the impact of projects and interventions on targeted groups and end beneficiaries in collaboration with media and donor relations.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes and follow up on them when requested by the project manager.
  • Assist in program/project activities implementation, including the coordination of training workshops, monitoring the implementation of preplanned activities, and controlling the budget.
  • Coordinate and implement training for schools’ staff, youth educators, community health volunteers, and other parties implementing the program.
  • Follow up and report on program/project progress and activities, including challenges and recommendations.
  • Organize Program/project-related visits, meetings, events, training, and workshops.

Qualifications:

  • BA degree in public health, nutrition, pharmacy, and social sciences. A Master’s degree in a similar field is desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public health community projects. Experience in the area of the Education/community outreach/Health sector is an advantage.
  • Experience in development, projects management, working with NGOs, or similar, with hands-on experience in social behavior change, campaigns, community mobilization, and outreach in Jordan.
  • Drive, passion, and commitment towards creating social change significantly in public health and development work.
  • Strong planning, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of project management cycles and process
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English languages
  • Excellent ability to use MS Office programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license and able to drive their vehicle to project locations
