JOB SUMMARY:
The Director – Materials Management is responsible for the management of all activities related to the storage and movement of clinical, non-clinical goods and medications. The role holder is responsible for the direct line management of four Managers as direct reports and other resources at supervisor, coordinator and associate level as indirect report.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Directs and manages the Material Management Division (warehouse operations, onsite recivening and distribution, patient supply stores and Sidra Drug Supply) to achieve its strategic and operational objectives by setting up policies, procedures, guidelines, KPI’s and ensure adherence to them.
- Ensures high quality service is provided to all stakeholders within Sidra.
- Leads and manages the provision of Materials Management services, including creating and implementing effective policies, procedures, processes and systems, and ensuring compliance with all relevant Sidra requirements reporting to the Executive Director – Supply Chain to ensure the operation achieves its strategic and operational objectives.
- Manage the Sidra Drug Supply Team and ensure all policies, procedures and processes are complied with – maybe repeat as it is covered above
- Sidra Drug Supply will have within its scope, inventory planning for all medications for Sidra Medicine, storage and distribution and the MM Director role holder will be responsible for manging the SDS section manager to execute all these requirements
- Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for Sidra Drug Supply in coordination with Pharmacy.
- Leads the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of materials management programs, including the establishment of operational standards and key performance indicators.
- Oversees the ongoing management and development of the workforce in consultation with the Executive Director – Supply Chain, including establishing departmental-wide strategies, policies and systems for workforce planning, recruitment, retention, occupational health and safety, education and training and performance management.
- Undertakes high level analysis of materials management operations, performance and special projects for the Executive Director – Supply Chain.
- Ensures the provision of quality supply services in terms in compliance and adherence to the Minitstry of Public health (MOPH, Qatar), and department’s Key Performance Indicators of service delivery, efficiency, cost effectiveness and professionalism.
- Manages the storage and distribution of all clinical,non clinical goods and medications in the offsite warehouse and onsite distribution centers.
- Ensures service delivery meets budget requirements and sound rationale is provided for financial decisions.
- To ensure all MM services provided are patient-focused, taking account of multiple competing factors, and remaining responsive at all times to the needs of all relevant stakeholders.
- Liaises with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure clinical,non-clinical and medications provisions requirements are met.
- Ensures compliance with any applicable legislative and organizational regulations and policies in regards to Occupational Health and Safety, transportation and storage of hazardous goods and any accreditation standards the organization adopts.
- Demonstrates an on-going commitment to service quality improvement, and ensures a high level of commitment to professionalism and customer service.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and a feed-back culture within the department that provides a safe environment for mutual learning and growth.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field such as Pharmacy.
MBA Degree
Experience
10+ years of Supply Chain experience including materials management experience with progressive responsibilities in a medical science or healthcare industry supply chain
Certification and Licensure
CILT/CSCP/CIPS
Professional Membership
Pharmacutical membership

- Demonstrated strong distribution skill set.
- Strong leadership, change management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working with workflow-driven ERP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in written and spoken English
