Job Purpose

Perform the engineering work of specific design area from Combustion & Packaged Equipment, Department related scope for the concerned project by preparing the engineering deliverables, providing instructions to each Engineer, checking design outputs by the Engineers, participate in reviews, coordinate with other parties to ensure that the project is completed as per the objectives, the contracts in line with the engineering department’s strategy and objectives as well as JGC Gulf initiative while ensuring safety.

Key Accountabilities

Engineering Operations Management

▪ Lead and implement the plan for specific tasks to the fair quality, cost and schedule to ensure completion according to desired time and cost constraints as per project execution plan and strategy.

▪ Prepare Project specific Engineering Execution plan / strategy for specific project including, deliverable list with target date, milestone planning, internal schedule cost down idea, risk identification & countermeasure plan to align project, JGC Gulf and department objectives.

▪ Supporting Lead Engineer in developing strategy, Planning, evaluating and Selecting Engineering Subcontractor use for the concerned project.

▪ Contribute to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design / scope requirements, ambiguous requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination requirements.

▪ Coordinate project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.

▪ Deliver independently on more complex tasks /activities to contribute to project objectives according to Lead Engineer’s direction.

▪ Participate in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations.

▪ Coordinate and make interface with other engineering disciplines, outsourcing engineering sub-contractor.

▪ Assist in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design, bids, and proposals.

▪ Outline project requirements, assign tasks, and supervise progress to ensure that objectives are being met.

▪ Ensuring timely inputs to the downstream / upstream disciplines (ERD) & Detailed inputs to Construction to estimate / execute the site work. Supervise preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects as requested.

▪ Provide technical guidance to a small group of temporarily assigned team.

▪ Analyze the contracts and procurement data sheet to ensure alignment with the clients’ requirements.

▪ Guide, project teams, vendors, design engineers, outsourcing team etc., to ensure that the project is completed in the time and budget required.

▪ Review the developed daily schedules and plan to ensure that the projects are completed in a successful manner with the timeframe and budget required.

▪ Review progress, quality, deliverables, reporting etc., of engineering sub-contractor’s output

▪ Solve more complex problems and issues escalated from engineers to ensure actions are recommended according to set standards and president experience.

▪ Review and approve plans and data evaluated with regards to the projects progress, RFPs, procurements, etc., to be provided to management for review and approval.

▪ Participation in Project, POP and Expediting meetings as and when asked by Lead Engineer.

▪ Follow existing design quality assurance system and provide engineering deliverables with their design quality.

▪ Verify contractual requirement and design inputs for design work.

▪ Distribute to Engineers under him necessary information to execute his design engineering work.

▪ Guide Engineers under him and help make decisions on the engineering design, and projects in a timely and effectively to be completed to ensure the design output will meet project and JGC Gulf set objectives.

▪ Review P&ID and PDS to ensure mismatch with process and piping design.

▪ Patriciate in 3D Model review, HAZOP studies & other engineering studies as per project.

▪ Coordination with other disciplines, client, vendors and engineering subcontractors to ensure design engineering work and output will meet the project objectives.

▪ Prepare material requisition to vendor, evaluating vendor proposal technically and selecting vendor, verifying vendor’s document, inspection reports and inspecting engineered equipment by vendors.

▪ Attend kick off meetings and Design Review Meeting with vendor (& internally) after Purchase Order to ensure that the vendor designs and materials are aligned with the contracts and project requirements.

▪ Prepare BM / BQ (Bill of Material / Quantity) for part assigned, support construction department for evaluating construction subcontractor under the guidance of Lead Engineer, execute Field Engineering at Project site.

▪ Review of Change Orders for equipment assigned and assist Lead Engineer in its resolution with Vendor / Client.

▪ Support to Lead Engineer for preparation of agenda for Close-out meeting with Engineering Sub-contractors.

▪ Assist Lead Engineer in Vendor assessment feedback to Procurement team.

المهارات

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge

• 7 to 10 years’ experience in Engineering Execution in EPC industrial projects or Oil and Gas preferably in the GCC. (Length of experience years are for reference only) (Min. 5 years’ experience in the desired role to handle specific eqpt. ex. CMB eqpt. Or PKG eqpt. Or IM Eqpt.)
