• A Senior Design Fire protection Engineer will normally be the most senior engineer of his discipline on a

particular project with full authority to act for that discipline when delegated to do so by the Discipline

Technical Authority. He will be part of Design HSE Department which consists of Engineering HSE & Fire

Protection Engineers.

• Design HSE is the fundamental discipline which ensures a safe process plant design.

• Its work involves producing documents that such PFD, P&IDs, Fire Protection Layouts, Plant Equipments

Spacing, Emergency Escape Route, Fire Protection System Coverage Drawings, Firewater and Foam Systems

Hydraulic Calculations, Fire & Gas Detection Layouts, Fire & Gas Block diagrams, Fire & Gas Cause and effect

diagram, Fireproofing drawings and Fire & Safety Equipment Datasheets.

• Develop Fire Protection Equipments Purchase Requisitions, clarification with vendor, Technical Bid

Evaluation and Vendor Documents Review.

• Develop Hazardous and Toxic material lists.

• To act as lead Design Fire Protection engineer on projects and proposals with responsibility for technical

quality and meeting program and cost targets. To supervise and/or carry out Design fire protection work on

such projects.

• To plan for adequate resources and to monitor and report design progress and man-hour usage to the

project management team.

• To work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary project delivery team, through proactive liaison with other

disciplines and to ensure integration of fire protection design into the overall engineering design.

• To support client to get design approvals from government

• To offer advice and support to colleagues and subordinates on development needs taking into account work

activities, learning ability and circumstances.

المهارات

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Fire Protection Engineering.

• 10 years plus' experience in the oil & gas sector in the field of Design fire protection.

• The candidate should ideally have experience of working on small to medium FEED and EPC/EPCM

Brownfield projects in the Onshore Oil & Gas Sector as well as large size Greenfield projects.

• Experience of Offshore projects is desirable but not essential.

• Knowledge to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain fire protection Regulatory and Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards

is plus

• Design Fire Protection (Active) systems such as Firewater mains, Firewater tanks, Firewater pumps, Deluge,

Sprinklers System, Foam spray, Inline Balance pressure proportioning foam system, Gas Detection, and Fire

Alarm System. Design Fire Suppression Systems such as FM-200, NOVEC-1230, Co2, Aragonite, Dry Chemical

Powder and Inergen System.

• Develop Hazardous and Toxic material lists.

• Able to present technical case to client, discuss and get approval

• Able to develop Fire Protection Philosophies, Fire Protection Basis of design, Fire Protection system

specification, Foam system Specification.

• Having excellent command on NFPA, API, IBC, IP Standards.

• Design Passive Fire protection and Plot Plan development

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Effective communicator

• Good technical writing skills
