Purpose of Job:

Steel structure position required the expert person to evaluate the corrosion of steel structure items which are located in Mesaieed Operations (NGL plant, Jetty, Stations across Qatar, Piperack …etc.). Steel Structure to be maintained in order to repair / replace based on damaged corroded items. As per QatarEnergy’s requirement, SD department to investigate/maintain the design, thickness, dimensions…etc. In addition, it is mandatory requirement to cope with safety requirement (process safety).

To provide maintenance services for all the structures (infrastructure, steel supports, buildings, shades, Piperack …. etc) within Mesaieed Operations jurisdictions and to ensure the continuous and safe operations of the facilities. To prepare and execute contracts for minor civil/structure works for structural and infrastructure projects for the improvement and refurbishment of the existing structures within Mesaieed Operations jurisdictions.

Duties and responsibilities

Maintains the steel infrastructure, steel support, structural buildings, jetty, shades, Piperack and structures for all. Mesaieed Operations jurisdictions, by utilizing of maintenance call-off contracts and ensures the continuous and safe operations of the facilities.
Prepare and executes minor structural projects for the purpose of improvement, refurbishment or modification of the facilities by implementation of One Time Contracts.
Prepare SOW & SOP to repair or replace the corroded and damaged structural steel under one time contract or call-off contract. (Inspection, recommendation report and implementation).
Coordinates structural repair and refurbishment works during planned plant turnarounds and unplanned emergency shutdowns.
Provides technical support to other disciplines for any structural involvement required as part of the routine maintenance or modifications of the Mesaieed Operations facilities.
Provides technical support for the review of Major projects documentation arising from VP projects to be executed within Mesaieed Operations facilities.
To check structural steel conditions and associated the requirements. Also, will assess if the maintenance work (when & How) can be done during plants shutdowns or during live operations.
To write reports and prepare evaluations of existing structures, propose where modifications of existing structure are required and to advise and supervise maintenance steel structures contractors during maintenance works.
Creates and processes Work Orders/release orders, Service Entry Sheets for raised SAP Notifications for structural maintenance and repair works for Mesaieed Operations facilities using SAP Plant Maintenance module.
Prepare, develops and processes contracts for structural maintenance and project works using the SAP External Services module.
Supervise/ Manage and review Method statements, risk assessments and Job Hazard Analysis for all structural works of contractors for Mesaieed Operations facilities to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with QATARENERGY HSE corporate Procedures and Regulations latest revisions, legal, safety, quality and QATARENERGY Management System procedures and QATARENERGY Purchasing Works and Auctions Regulations.
Processes contractor invoices for contract works for structural works in Mesaieed Operations facilities using the SAP External services module and the SAP Electronic Invoice Processing module.
Prepare the strategy of inspection as PM. (no tag to the steel elements in SAP). To participate structural steel tours and inspections with concerned parties such as operating authorities (OD) and asset holders.
To support Mesaieed Operations, and to ensure the continuous safe operations and Environment for those facilities and assets.
Acts as Maintenance Supervisor (CIVIL, HVAC) delegate during periods of absence due to leave, training and sickness.
Provides mentoring, training and professional development assistance for Qatari Civil and Structural Supervisors during their development/associated years.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum Experience:

Should be able to prepare Scope of Work, Schedule of Prices and Technical Specifications documents for Structural Engineering tender documents. Should have minimum 10 years’ experience of working on Structural Engineering Construction Projects, at least 3 years of which should have been in a “live” Oil and Gas Processing Plant environment.
Should be Holder of a Light Vehicle Driving License issued by Qatar Traffic dept. Defensive Driving training/course attendance to be provided.
