Interior Designer
Job Description
A Interior Designer can work on any/all phases of development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. They report to the Creative Director on tasks and deliverables and work directly with Project Director to ensure the facilitation of a project's completion; on-time, on/under-budget, and meets required quality standards.
Complete liaison with architectural firm engaged by the company on various projects.
Responsible for design and presentation drafting on interior design projects, including schematic design tasks and design development. Works directly with the Interiors Principal to plan, design, and furnish interiors on a variety of workplace, multifamily, higher education and hospitality projects. Formulates designs that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes per projects.
Lead interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents.
Develop space planning concepts, especially for commercial workspaces.
Develop and deliver graphic presentation materials and design documentation for architectural interiors, including visuals and samples.
Research, select and document the overall interiors package for a variety of architectural projects, including but not limited to full FF&E: Concept/style development, Color palette development, Interior finish material selection (material/mood board), Furniture/Fabric selection, Fixture and equipment selection
Create a full set of construction documents, including construction details, ADA and exiting drawings.
Develop detailed brand guidelines around concept design
Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project.
Conduct on-site observations.
Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during construction.
Leverage oneself beyond project-based focus to address greater office and regional issues.
Develop BOQ for all projects.
Any other duties as assigned by management.
