Primary Purpose of the Position:
The CAE is responsible for establishing and leading the Internal Audit Department that will be charged with the duty of verifying the accurate implementation of financial and administrative policies and procedures across all functions/departments.
The CAE assists the Audit Committee in effective discharge of its governance responsibilities by providing an objective and independent assurance function.
The CAE assists the Company in accomplishing its strategic and operational objectives by evaluating and providing recommendations for improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes.

Develop the audit vision, providing timely unbiased information with absolute integrity to the Audit Committee, Board of Directors and business leaders.
Set the strategy for the Internal Audit Department, while drawing on diverse sources of information (e.g., competitor, industry, economic).
Establish risk-based audit plans to set out the priorities of the Internal Audit Department, consistent with the organizational objectives and submit the audit plans for the Audit Committee’s approval.
Develop the Internal Audit manual, including the Internal Audit policies and procedures aligned to leading best practices, to ensure efficient and effective use of Internal Audit resources in accordance with IIA standards.
Conduct an evaluation on the implementation of the Internal Audit Charter and Manual at least annually to verify their adequacy and contribution to enable the Internal Audit to carry out its tasks and achieve its objectives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships and communication with the Audit Committee to ensure concerns around key business risks and control issues within the Company are addressed.
Identify the department’s human resource and annual budget requirements, and submit for the Audit Committee’s approval.
Provide leadership in the development of audit plans, procedures and programs to evaluate the adequacy of the Company’s internal control environment.
Develop and maintain strong working relationship with external auditors to ensure effectiveness of service delivery and appropriate resolution of findings/issues identified.
Develop an organizational competency in the audit function by identifying and integrating best practices in workflow, measurement, technologies and resource configuration.
Maintains adequate knowledge of laws and regulations, keeping abreast of all changes
Develop policies and programs that encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of repercussion.
Ensure that internal audit resources are appropriate, sufficient and effectively deployed to achieve the internal audit plans approved by the Audit Committee.
Coordinate internal auditing activities and plans with other internal and external providers of assurance and consulting activities to ensure proper coverage and minimize duplication of effort.
Monitor external audit review processes, maintain awareness of compliance issues, and in conjunction with relevant parties, respond to administrative inquiries related to compliance issues or audits.
Ensure timely completion of internal auditing engagements as per the approved internal audit plan.
Ensure that reports on internal auditing engagements are provided to the Audit Committee in a timely manner.
Provide an annual holistic opinion on the effectiveness and adequacy of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Coordinate and supervise all Internal Audit activities and evaluate performance of the Internal Audit team.
Assess the effectiveness of controls and/or arrangements implemented / controls adopted by the management to ensure that the Company complies with all applicable Laws, Regulations, Instructions and Financial procedures and assess their adequacy and suitability.
Evaluate the actions taken by the audited departments to avoid weaknesses and deficiencies referred to in the Internal Audit reports.
Review the financial reports prepared by the Company and assess the accuracy and extent of compliance with the relevant regulations, instructions and policies.
Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as appropriate judgment, independence and discretion.
Assist the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors in carrying out their strategic responsibilities.
Assist the management of the Company in identifying and assessing strategic risks and emerging issues that could impact the Company.
Prepare reports and share the results of the audit to the Audit Committee periodically.
Provide advice, recommendations, including reporting on implementation of corrective actions and follow-ups related to internal control, risk management and governance.
Develop the capabilities of the Internal Audit team according to the departments mandate and available sourcing options.
Provide the Audit Committee with a list of key performance objectives and performance measurement results for the Internal Audit.
Lead and direct the management of change through continuous improvement of Internal Audit’s systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.Competencies:

Expertise in written and verbal English language is must.
Knowledge of written and verbal Arabic language is preferred.
Qualification:
BA (Accounting/Finance/IS) degree or related Degree.
Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college / university.
Professional qualification(s), particularly as: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Experience:
14 or more years’ relevant experience with an International Audit Firm or Internal Audit department of a reputable organization with at least 7+ years in an executive role; with exposure to best practices in risk management, control and governance process.
