UMR Jordan currently has an opening for a full-time, country-based Program officer. The Program officer is responsible for following up on the implementation of projects’ activities with the UMR partners, building capacity of UMR partner staff in addition to field coordination with stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
Programs:
● Work closely with partners to identify issues and inform evidence-based programming.
● Assist in designing and developing activities in different sectors.
● Regular follow up with partner focal points on project activities to maintain the quality of implementation.
● Identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed, including staff training.
● Support implementation of Safety and safeguarding policies with partners.
● Assist partners in writing their monthly reports.
● Assist the programs coordinator in analyzing the M&E tools that will be used by partners.
● Provide technical Psycho-social support and set the thematic approach in alignment with UMR programs in Jordan
● Assist in developing a sound understanding of UMR’s PSS approaches and best practices and localize content to support effective programming in Jordan
● Lead in developing and proposing new services to respond to PSS needs identified in target communities
Delivery of capacity building:
● Assist the programs coordinator in assessing and designing capacity building plans for staff and partners.
● Deliver coaching and monitoring visits, trainings and briefings, including tailored trainings where needed and feasible, to staff and partners.
● Provide ongoing and necessary technical support, guidance and advice to partners.
● Support staff and partners in the development and implementation of partnership checklists and tools.
● Build capacity of CBOS and partner/s staff in fundamental PSS approaches.
Representation:
● Participate when needed in Jordan working groups.
● Contribute to the development, adaptation, contextualization of training and information materials.
● Share materials, useful and relevant information, including tools and methodologies with partners.

Skills and Competencies:
● Competent written and spoken English
● Ability to provide (creative/interactive) trainings
● Excellent communication skills; ability to give and receive feedback
● Result-oriented
Knowledge and Experience:
● Relevant academic background (Social Sciences, Psychology, Social work…)
● Knowledge of current principles and practices of protection, safeguarding, and PSS implementation.
● Understanding of rights of people with disabilities (programming) in conflict and post conflict environments
● Minimum 3 years (I)NGO work
● Minimum 2 year in the field of PwD, CP, PSS and programme implementation
● Demonstrated engagement with local partners, and experience in building capacity
