ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct the initial biopsychosocial assessment for Admin cases.
- Organize the development of bio psychosocial initial administrative sheets with focus on any immediate safety concerns.
- Monitor on-going care plan development with special attention to safety issues and stabilizing the family from the effects of domestic violence.
- Serve as a client Advocate.
- Conduct a follow up session with clients regularly for managed cases
- Conduct review for appropriate utilization of services from admission through discharge/termination.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team, and actively participate in case conferences
- Ensure involvement of local authorities, community leaders, and community groups in creating community network which increase access to better health and social services for vulnerable population of Jordan. Contribute to the case management file, including assessments, treatment plan and quality assurance measures as decided by IMC and client functioning scale
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting psychiatrist orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Works closely with psychiatrists to determine medications needed as part of MHPSS service-delivery.
- Reviews all the goods issue orders (GIO) for clinics and submits them to the warehouse.
- Monitors the goods issue orders (GIO) from mental health clinics and the warehouse and follows up on all GIOs.
- Maintains a documentation system to track all GIOs.
- Monitors client consumption and ensures heavily utilized medication is kept in stock with adequate supply.
- Takes precautions to avoid stock shortages by anticipating the demand of medications, based on medications usage in clinics.
- In absence of available medication supply in country, works closely with the psychiatry consultant to determine alternative acceptable medications for procurement.
- Submits and follows-up on medications procurement requisition forms (PR) according to clinic need and client’s consumption.
- Dispenses medication by compounding, packaging and labelling pharmaceuticals.
- Ensures the dispensing of medications in each clinic is appropriately documented, and medication dispensed is accurately accounted for, in line with compliance standards.
- Ensure the safe storage of medications in each location, and advise mental health nurses and pharmacists to adhere to compliance standards.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of clinics, staff professionals; counselling patients on drug therapies.
- Conducts field visits to all mental health clinics on a regular basis.
- Support mental health nurses and pharmacists to provide psychoeducation on medication usage.
- Complies with International Medical Corps drug laws, international guidelines regarding use of psychotropic, and national drug enforcement laws.
- Complies with the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring mental health clinics.
- Ensure the maintenance of comprehensive documentation for controlled substances.
- Remove outdates and damaged medications from the pharmacy inventory.
- Maintain current registration. · Ensure to remain up to date with existing, new and anticipating legislation, advising management on needed actions to ensure compliance.
- Protect patients and technicians by adhering to medications protocols.
- Ensure access to medications is restricted to only authorized persons within mental health clinics.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Distribute medications for patients according to psychiatrist prescriptions and follows up to record the consumptions for each clinic.
- Contributes to team effort by completing additional tasks as requested.
- Perform other job- related duties as requested by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacist
- Minimum Two years of experience in similar role
- Experience with an NGO (preferred)
- English Language : Intermediate
