Qualifications
- University degree and excellent academic record required advanced degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in corporate travel
- Excellent organization and strong professional computing skills, including Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong influencing skill: ability to create buy-in among senior leaders and mobilize teams to act and perform at a high level
- Ability to analyze/understand complex data sets, identify shortcomings and opportunities and work in a global-based team but also with local based teams to share recommended changes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain highly effective and collaborative relationships
- Ability to drive change and influence absent explicit mandates, meet deadlines, and inspire confidence among senior leadership
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our offices in Addis Ababa, Almaty, Amsterdam, Cairo, Casablanca, Doha, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Lagos, Lisbon, London, Luanda, Madrid, Manama, Nairobi, Nur-Sultan, Poznan, Prague or Riyadh and report to the EEMA Regional Travel Manager (RTM) and, be part of Optimize, the procurement and operations function that delivers distinctive, positive, and productive experiences for McKinsey colleagues through various services ranging from travel, events, real estate, sourcing, solutions and purchasing.
You will work closely with local and regional leadership, and other colleagues across Optimize and other departments and our external travel suppliers, as you shape and lead the travel operation process in our EEMA region.What You'll Do
You will work closely with the Regional Travel Manager (RTM) to support and drive regional travel initiatives and support developing and implementing efficiencies to the travel operations in the region.
You will be the main point of contact on travel operational topics for our colleagues in EMEA, building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver personalized high touch support and advice to travelers, leveraging your deep specialized expertise to solve complex travel issues.
You will work with the RTM to ensure our operating model delivers an engaged, participative travel team, that also drives integration and collaboration with other parts of the firm. You will encourage new thinking on emerging topics, pushing leaders in EEMA to adopt world class practices in delivery of the travel service.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our travel operations run seamlessly. You will monitor TMC for operational performance and collaborate with RTM and global category leads to conduct regular performance reviews with TMC and other key vendors to identify, and then execute, opportunities for ongoing improvement in the travel service.
You will ensure compliance with regional strategy and policies, including reporting on, and addressing gaps in, policy compliance in the region.
You will support the awareness and adoption of new technology to transform the travel experience for our firm colleagues.
You will research finance issues related to the travel service and collaborate with finance and other teams to ensure the correct and optimal accounting and financial treatment of our travel costs.
