Summary
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
2. Performs all types of plumbing related equipment in the Hospital, residential & recreation Area, using standard plumbing hand and power tools, soldering and light welding equipment.
3. Work from drawings, sketches, specifications, written and verbal instructions. Keeps record of the work performed.
4. Lays out, fabricates, assembles, maintains and installs pipes carrying heating, water gas and sewage systems in the Hospital. Such as: new chilled water supply/return line, condense drain lines, new water fire line system, sprinklers, fire hose cabinets, alarm check valves, isolation valves, flow switches and installs plumbing fixtures.
5. Selects type and of pipes and related materials according to job specifications.
6. Plans sequence of operations and insures absence of obstructions. Checks and estimates manpower and man-hours needed to complete the project.
7. Carryout general piping works: 1) Cut pipe, using hand tools such as hacksaw, pipe cutters and cutting torch. 2) Threads pipe, using threading machine. 3) Bends pipe, by hand or with pipe bending machine. 4) Assembles piping, using appropriate materials. 5) Joins piping, using threaded calked soldered brazed or cemented joints. 6) Secures pipes, to structures when required. 7) Testing piping for leaks after installation or repair using hydro test pump and submit the testing report.
8. Guides lower graded personnel.
9. Position may require rotation on various shifts to maintain 24 -hours coverage.
10. Follows all prescribed safety procedures.Education
