POSITION SUMMARY
Cluster Learning & Development Executive
In your role you will be an essential part of the Human Resources team and will be responsible to ensure a smooth and efficient, yet personal and attentive operation of the Training Function, in line with Marriott's Core Values. Together with your Manager you will analyze training needs, plan and implement training activities and help in collating content for new training programs where required. Your role is vital in the hotel as you will actively train and assist the departments in training all employees and maintaining the hotels operational training standards.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate ideally with a university degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management. In addition we expect at least two years experience in a Training Department of a hotel or another large organization. You must be an excellent trainer and be able to hold presentations in front of crowds of all s as well as being able to motivate them to learn. Superior communication skills are essential. Good organizational administrative and interpersonal skills should be your strength. You ideally have experience in Marriott International already and have UAE experience.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement training programs for associates, managers, trainers and others (i.e., participating in and conducting needs analysis, skills development classes, cross-training, etc.).
- Facilitate orientation and training classes communicate policies and procedures to managers and new employees as needed.
- Ensure company grooming standards are communicated effectively to all new employees.
- Conduct New hire orientation training including completing all new hire paperwork
- Assist Training Manager in ensuring that the Learning Department creates/updates accurate and useful information when required.
- Develop training aids and multi-media tools to present training material
- Prepare for training classes (e.g., materials, setup classes, breakdown classes).
- Actively seek, clarify and understand information from Operations Teams to assist in achieving their goals. Provide training assistance where necessary in order to achieve these goals. Fully understand workflow, daily production goals and reports used to drive the business.
- Ensure network standard training programs are implemented and consistently utilized as required in the Digital Learning Zone.
- Provide training courses together with the Training Manager, ensuring all is recorded and content up to date.
- Keep up-to-date with different Marriott and external platform tools we work with and become the expert in them.
- Ensure Brand Awareness amongst all associates and train for Service Culture.
- Ensuring support of all Take Care activities
- Support of Human Resources Department where required
Basic Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in training operations position
- Recent experience in a fast-paced large property or multi-property set up, understanding of different brands
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel are desired
- Detailed planning and time management and organizational skills are required
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required with excellent command of the English language
- Positive, proactive and able to exercise great judgement
- Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment
- Fluency in different languages is desirable
