JOB PURPOSE:
General
This role covers will lead and manage the Credit Administration suite for ESCAN, Commercial Real Estate, MBBF and Islamic Real Estate under the department in Abu Dhabi. The activities include managing and monitoring all credit administration functions/activities under documentation as defined by respective business Real Estate Policy including Islamic. In addition, the role will be responsible for participating and managing transformational initiatives for all Real Estate processing.
Mandate
The role is responsible for all documentation relating to credit facilities and accurate detailing before authorising the same into the Bank's system. Further responsible for ensuring the enforceability/authenticity of the security documents executed by the customers. The role will be managing the end-to-end documentation process for all Real estate business that includes disbursal activities and custody of documents and will cover Elite and Mass Consumer Banking in Abu Dhabi.
Business Management
As the nature of the business, the role requires an average skills on managing stakeholders and acting on urgent transactions. This means that the role require a seasoned approach to ensure that appropriate service is provided to our important customer sets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Follow and comply with policies, process and procedures for Real Estate including Islamic Real Estate.
  • Manage and ensure effective implementation of CAD functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
  • Develop and implement a governance framework within CAD including working together with Operational Risks to develop RCSA, Risk Event Reporting and control enhancements.
  • Identify system requirements both for enhancement and maintenance of current systems. This includes identification and minimizing manual process in the department.

CAD Management

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of Credit Administration framework and operating model. By doing such, the role shall drive and manage limits/tolerances in line with the bank's overall risk while ensuring effective implementation of the same in liaison with relevant stakeholders to support effective management of the bank's operations within the defined risk levels.
  • Monitoring of customers portfolios of the assigned sector / management and documentation control and proactively highlighting any areas of non-compliance in order to safeguard the interest of the Bank.
  • Ensuring all security / support documents have been properly executed, signatures are verified and authenticities of the signatories are supported by resolution / POA.
  • Manage the process of documentation preparation and vetting by the team to ensure credit documentation and collaterals comply with the bank's requirements, legality and validity in order to mitigate the Bank's risk.
  • Ensure completion of all post approval activities and monitoring them to meet the agreed TAT which includes preparation of offer letter, document checklist, business communication, scrutinizing documentation and disbursement of loans in line with the agreed internal and external guidelines.
  • Reviewing & circulating documentation deficiency (expired / deferred documents) reports and following up for its timely submission / renewal.
  • Reviewing / verifying approvals obtained for permanent release of collaterals, security documentation and
  • ensuring that there are no liabilities or outstanding and facilities are cancelled.
  • Ensuring the timely identification and reporting of early warning signs of determination and manage the effective follow-up with relevant business counterparts to facilitate adherence to defined risk levels.

Internal Collaboration

  • Works in close coordination with key stakeholders from Business and Group Credit for resolution of any queries/ issues related to particular accounts including strategic and transformational initiatives.
  • Liaises with the Group Credit and Risk Management Unit for sharing/ collating all relevant information and pertaining to collaterals and security documentation in order to facilitate efficiency in transactions.
  • Consulting with Legal Counsel for any legal advice or documentation.

MIS Reporting

  • Liaises with key stakeholders from Credit Administration for providing periodic update on status of transactions on the Credit Approval Management System and providing detailed information on any anticipated delays.
  • Manage and Lead the preparation of requisite reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc) and MIS through periodic reviews to ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting the right information for facilitating informed decision making.

Transformation

  • as a subject matter expert in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
  • Involve in transformational change in CAD space both requiring system enhancements or not.
  • Involve in process simplification as either lead or contributor by applying digital initiatives/automation of manual processes.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all department reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Group requirements, policies and quality standards.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance or Related degrees.
  • Alternatively, with strong background on Mortgages, Credit Administration, legal, operational risk or compliance.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related discipline is preferred.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 3 years in a managerial role in CAD or related function. Strong background in Documentation related activities and Islamic Banking.
  • Bilingual is an advantage.
