Job Description
Manager – Marketplace
Business & Strategy:
- The role is responsible to scale up Babyshop Marketplace business – onboarding and growing vendor accounts to sell on Babyshop & Centrepoint E-Commerce platforms.
- Develop external category strategy which complements Babyshop existing private label business and leads to E-Commerce growth
- Strive to build external accounts and build SKU growth in Babyshop categories over the long term, through relevant goal alignment and execution of strategy in consultation with Buying team.
- Work closely with the buying teams to scale categories suitable to the GCC market.
- Build the structural pillars of the marketplace business across buyer & seller base, people organization, business processes, technology platform, MIS to position the business for launch as per schedule.
- Responsible for vendor management and handholding new accounts into the Babyshop business
People & Capability Development:
- Enable the creation of an agile, driven marketplace team by attracting and retaining best-in-market talent by instituting effective process within the category
- Continuously develop capability as a key asset for the organization across all business pillars (marketing, merchandising, channel operations etc.)
Stakeholder Management:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and drive the ongoing execution smoothly.
- Identify, implement, and improve key levers that will enhance the value of the business to enable growth
Role Requirements
- Engineering Graduate with MBA from Top Tier B School.
- Must have worked in a category expansion role in an ecommerce retail set up
- 3-5 years of experience in Retail Fashion/Non-Fashion
- Strong leadership skills
- Imaginative and creative problem solver
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience launching international brands or a brand into new markets
- Role reports to the Head – E_Commerce
