Business Intelligence Analyst

Role Purpose:
We are looking for a strong Business Intelligence Analyst to help us build and efficiently scale our analytics capabilities in the Majid Al Futtaim's loyalty programme who will join a small and efficient team that provides data, performance insights and customer insights to the loyalty management team and to the broader organization.
Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Closely support Business Intelligence & Innovation function of Majid Al Futtaim's loyalty programme, including but not limited to insights generation, reporting, and data visualization.
  • Translate business requirements into data and analytics solutions by using relevant data engineering, analytics, and visualization applications.
  • Develop clean, concise, and digestible visualizations and dashboards in Power BI for the team to use and gain insight from.
  • Design and develop scalable data models in Azure Analysis Services using industry best practices.
  • Implement solutions that meet high standards, robust enough to not require extensive revampat a later stage.
  • Maintain, enhance, and optimize current Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting processes while automating and streamlining self-service support and access to datasets.
  • Report key insights and root causes behind variances of key metrics.
  • Provide analytical support to other teams (Product, Strategy, Finance, Member Engagement, etc.) within the loyalty department.
  • Carry out project based or ad-hoc analysis to deep-dive into business problems.
  • Proactively identify opportunity areas for deep dive investigations and future programme development

Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Capable of translating data into insights and compelling stories, presenting to business stakeholders to drive value for the business.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, possess a well-rounded business knowledge and have analytical & design thinking skills.
  • Keeps up to date with the latest BI processes, technologies, and features.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in in a quantitative field (mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, or engineering)
  • Master's Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, business management, economics or finance is preferred
  • Excellent command of English
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in business analysis, analytics and/or management consultancy
  • Experience working in an analytics heavy environment or startup is a plus
  • Previous experience in Customer Loyalty, Retail (Grocery and Non-Grocery) and Leisure & Entertainment sectors is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with SQL involving complex datasets and multiple data sources.
  • Experience in Power BI as a data visualization, analytics tool, data modelling and preparation using DAX and SQL, and knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack.
  • Experience with programming languages (Python, R) is a plus
