Job objectives

Repair and maintenance of a large agricultural equipment including engines, irrigation equipment, harvesters, Tractors, trucks/light commercials. Overhaul Diesel Engines, Generator (Caterpillar, Volvo, MITSUMAN, CUMMINS).

Delivery of a comprehensive maintenance schedule programme.

Main duties and responsibilities

Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies

Routine servicing and overhauling of all diesel engines.

Inspecting the engines and detecting malfunctions.

Replacing engine parts and appropriately assembling the same.

Maintaining records of servicing and engine oils

Checking electrical systems and transmission parts and ensuring the smooth functions of the same

Ensuring the proper handling of all testing and repair tools. (Pneumatic & power tools)

Troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, electro-mechanical and power systems

Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned

Ability to work with maintenance supervisor/stock controller to order parts or supplies needed to complete equipment repairs

Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs

Working in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a variety of generator engines, fleet equipment such as Heavy Haul Trucks, Tractors, Loaders, Harvesters

Communicate with maintenance supervisor to coordinate maintenance priorities

Maintain maintenance records

Enter service and/or repair information into a computerized work order system to track maintenance activities for each piece of equipment being serviced or repaired

Alert maintenance superviosr of any critical situations which may affect optimum equipment situation.

Strive to reduce repair and maintenance costs on a long-term basis

Ensure daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards and comply with safety policies and procedures
