Hotel Overview

Fairmont Amman is a five-star deluxe luxury hotel with a prestigious address next to the Fifth Circle of Amman, centrally located within walking distance of the city's most affluent neighborhoods of Abdoun and the adjacent diplomatic area. The hotel features a contemporary design from award-winning Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) design.Within this ancient city, Fairmont Amman hotel stands as a modern urban oasis of 317 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites with unparalleled views of the stunning Amman hills. Each accommodation is remarkably spacious, complete with premium amenities that are essential to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel also features Fairmont Gold – an exclusive lifestyle hotel experience with an unrivaled level of personalized service, designed to meet the needs of the most discerning business executive or leisure traveler.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the hotel
  • Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, including but not limited to Food and Beverage and Rooms Division
  • Lead and support all departments in the achievement of their financial and operational targets through establishment of a positive culture, clear expectations and policy and procedural implementation
  • Direct the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget
  • Actively involved in various industry and community initiatives
  • Act as spokesperson for the hotel and an ambassador for the Fairmont Brand
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for all departments are on time, on target and accurate
  • Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls
  • Actively involved in the recruitment process of senior leadership positions within the hotel
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies

We are looking for an ideal candidate with:

  • +5 years' experience in a General Manager role, within the luxury brand segment
  • Extensive hotel operations experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget planning and financial controls
  • University/College degree in a related discipline (preferred)
  • Fluent verbal and written English and Arabic (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
