Job Description

The role holder will be responsible for providing regular preventative maintenance on the database servers and clients to ensure continued availability of data to the SANG
The role holder will be responsible for providing on-site and remote Technical Support to the Regional Control Centres in order to maintain the integrity of the SANGCOM Information System Network in accordance with KPI objectives, and to ensure service affecting outages are minimised
Day to day tasks may include the following
establishing the needs of users and monitoring and resolving issues related to user access and security
Monitoring performance and managing database parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
Considering both back-end maintainability of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
Restoration and configuration of client terminal images for new and replacement installations.
Maintaining data standards and integrity in accordance with SANG data protection restrictions.
Amending database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions as directed.
Administration of access permissions and privileges
Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans
Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.
Working closely with IT project managers, database developers and mapping programmers.
Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
Commissioning and installing new applications and customising existing applications in accordance with SANG requirements.
To ensure the Integrity of all data held in the designated region IP Database.
The role holder will submit technical reports (internal & customer) appertaining to major Information System incidents as instructed by CCIS Team Leader that may be required.
The role holder may be required to deploy Kingdom-wide as and when instructed by his management chain to assist on major network incidents or projects.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, verifying completion of schedule jobs as backups.
Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources
Undertake additional tasks as directed by CCIS Team Leader or Regional Management in liaison with CCIS Team Leader
To provide emergency on-call support on a rotating schedule 24/7
To carry out routine maintenance tasks SANGCOM Servers & Network equipments in accordance with an established maintenance schedule.
Monitor, plan, and coordinate the distribution of new client/server software and service packs
MS Outlook, MS Server 2008 and 2003, MS exchange server , Basic Windows scripting skills
Windows 2003/2008 Server platforms with emphasis on Active Directory
Exchange 2003/2010 Messaging system
SQL Server 2005/2012
Must possess advanced HW & SW troubleshooting skills.
Must possess good English verbal and writing skills.
Must possess a valid driving license from the country of origin
Must be physically fit to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
System Administration /System Engineer certification from Microsoft (Server 2008)
Advanced Database troubleshooting skills.
