Job Description
Title:Senior Material & Corrosion Engineer – PMC
KBR is looking for talented individuals to join our PMC team to work on an exciting FEED project commencing soon. The project can potentially offer longevity through execution, implementation and start-up in early 2024.
Role Requirements:
Must have 15 + years of experience in Oil and gas projects.
Must have worked minimum 5+ years on Offshore PMC/ EPC projects.
Extensive knowledge of ADNOC policies and engineering procedures.
Have conducted corrosion analysis, studies, and surveys on pipeline and structure to determine corrosion behaviour.
Develop routine and intelligence pigging programs and monitor outcome of such programmes.
Review inspection reports for pipelines, structures, and facilities to determine cause of corrosion.
Provide technical advice on implementation of corrosion control measures follow up to the implementation phase.
Provide material selection/analysis services to determine type of material to be used and determine cause of failure.
Prepare technical specification and design basis for cathodic protection projects
Evaluate the adequacy/effectiveness of corrosion control systems on pipeline and structure.
Carry out studies/analysis on the effect of corrosion due to changes in operations mode.
Provide technical assessment on corrosion behaviour considering the adequacy of chemicals, metallurgy and protection measures.
Evaluate intelligent pigging survey results, corrosion and related matters covering corrosion studies related to cathodic protection, intelligent pigging, treatment, prevention, monitoring, and analysis.
Provide advice on material selection, chemical treatment/analysis on corrosion for subsea pipelines and structure
Set up data for corrosion management system for all subsea plant equipment/facilities.
Provide technical assistance to prepare all corrosion related procedures.
Carry out prequalification of corrosion contractors/consultants for inclusion in company's bidders list.
Evaluate facilities integrity and determine their remaining life based on prediction model
Inspection of coating/painting of all facilities in the FPSO
Calculate and estimate total quantity of coating/painting materials for contractors.
Skills/Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent. Master's degree is an advantage. Certification related to Cathodic Protection, corrosion processes and coating from professional bodies will be considered as an advantage. Good knowledge and understanding of corrosion mechanisms relevant to Oil & Gas Sector and typical materials of construction applied in pipelines, process piping and pressure vessels. Working experience with NACE corrosion standards including NACE MR 0175/ISO 15156 and pipeline direct assessment standards. Experience in materials selection and corrosion control techniques for Oil and Gas assets . Basic understanding of CP systems performance analysis and design . Knowledge of FFS relevant codes and standards (such as API 579, ASME B31G etc.)
