Qualifications
- Excellent academic qualifications (ideally, a B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. in communications, journalism, or a related field).
- 6+ years of experience in public relations or communications, including proven track record in both planning and executing proactive communications initiatives (e.g., events, campaigns, report launches) and hands-on experience with members of the media/communications ecosystem (e.g., reporters, producers, event organizers).
- Proven project-management skills, including on multiple workstreams excellent sense of ownership and a high level of drive and initiative.
- Demonstrated experience serving as an advisor to senior colleagues, showing both judgment and presence along with the confidence to follow up with senior leaders on the resolution of roadblocks.
- Superlative oral and written communications skills, with a demonstrated record of producing communications materials (e.g., releases, statements, messaging, Q&As) you will represent both yourself and the firm primarily through your writing in both formal and informal contexts.
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in our Cairo, Doha, Riyadh, Karachi, Kuwait or Manama office as part of our Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan (MENAP) communication team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity work closely with the partners and the regional communication team to enhance McKinsey's reputation in the region and expand the reach of our thought leadership and knowledge.

You will be a strategic and creative leader primarily responsible for developing and executing effective external communications strategies to enhance McKinsey's reputation in the region.
In this role, you will help to disseminate the Firm's knowledge through four primary dissemination channels: media, social media, client communication, events (both external and McKinsey-hosted). You will distil complex reports from diverse practices/functions into content for a variety of audiences with a range of expertise (from experts to general public). You will also advise practice leaders, location leaders, and other partners/colleagues on jointly owned activities that fall into the four aforementioned channels.
You will manage several distinct production pipelines and communicate progress to a range of stakeholders clearly, concisely, and often spontaneously. You will create and publish a monthly newsletter of regional communications achievements (e.g., publications, media coverage, events) and collect analytics on monthly social media and media coverage.
You will also be responsible to manage relationships with external vendors and provide support for the communications function (e.g., partner publications, film crews, communications agencies, translation agencies).
You will develop and produce creative campaigns on a wide range of creative assets, work side-by-side with internal and external teams. In addition, you will manage and support the execution of virtual and in- person events and create materials that can be shared with C-level executives. Over time, you will innovate and reshape the role to suit your strengths, ambitions, and the ever-changing needs of the Firm.
