Job Summary
As a KSA Senior Environmental Specialist, you will be a core member of both AECOM Arabia and the Middle East & Africa Environment Team. You are passionate about delivering effective environmental and social inputs and positively influencing the environmental and social performance of large-scale projects in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. You must be able to demonstrate experience in managing multidisciplinary ESIA inputs to complex and large-scale projects, working closely with design engineers to intercept and mitigate potential effects on communities, as well as effectively managing resources and budgets. You will provide direction and input across all project lifecycles from early strategy development, through feasibility, optioneering/option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of consents, construction, and operation. You will review environmental and social studies, mitigation measures and management plans, and monitor their implementations on behalf of private financial institutions and their requirements, to make sure that projects activities are aligned with good international industry practices.

Qualifications
- Graduate and/or post-graduate degree in relevant social and/or environmental disciplines.
- Professional knowledge of Arabic and English.
- Valid full drivers licence.
Skills
- You'll need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious, as well as having:
- Proven experience working in ESIA-related issues for private projects.
- A proven understanding of international best practices and guidelines in the subject (such as IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, UN Guiding Principles, IAIA Guidelines, etc.) and their application.
- Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's Environmental Regulations / Standards and experience in liaising with ministries (such as MEWA, Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, ARAMCO, NEOM, NCEC, PIF, GAMEP, etc.).
- Experience in applying baseline data collection methodologies and carrying out project activities in emerging markets and rural communities, particularly in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia Latin America, and the Middle East.
- Experience in coordinating and managing inputs into Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and/or Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD).
- The ability to lead and work collaboratively as part of an established team, supervising members of staff as applicable.
- Excellent verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing – all with an attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines and budget constraints, working flexibly under pressure and responding to changing project and programme demands.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to structure and prioritise the delivery of project outputs effectively while working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel.
